We visited Annex as part of a 1920's theme night organised in conjunction with The Electric Cinema. We found all aspects of the evening to be absolutely charming- from the décor, ambience, service, food and the live band. I can't comment on the cost as it was all included in our ticket. We felt like we were back in the... More

I recently had to rearrange a hen party with little notice (one week!) to Birmingham. As there was a 1920's theme I looked up 1920's style restaurants and Annexe popped up. I contacted them to see if they could fit 12 people in on the Saturday evening and they could. When we arrived the staff were fantastic and we were... More

Visited here a few weeks back for a treat before the bank holiday weekend. I've meant to go a few times but have never got round to it. The decor was amazing, I'm a proper sucker for old styled restaurants. The service was good, little disjointed but nothing major. Food was great as were the drinks! On the whole we... More

It's a lovely place to eat with a great atmosphere. But unfortunately the food was only average and very overpriced, and the head waiter came across as very impatient and it seemed like he wanted us to hurry up and get out - we'd only been sat down two minutes before we were asked if we were ready to order!

Was very pleasantly surprised by the food and ambience at this city centre restaurant. The service was just slightly amateurish but very friendly and quite efficient. The food was unexciting but of a good quality and well cooked. All in all worth a visit if you are in town and a restaurant we would happily return to.

Birmingham isn't exactly awash with good eateries in its city centre, which probably goes a long way to explain why Annexe gets away with charging extortionate prices for very average food (and decidedly poor service). There's nothing particularly 'wrong' with the food, but there's certainly nothing to justify the prices either. The portions are small, and I don't mean that... More

I've been to annexe many times and its been my favourite Birmingham restaurant. Noticed the menu has been severely shortened with many of my favourite dishes now gone and now quite a limited choice. The deserts in particular were disappointing especially if you don't like coffee. Please bring back the old menu! Howeve the main I had was lovely and... More

Recommended by a friend who had eaten there on a Saturday evening who really enjoyed the food however, as a table of 5 who experienced the Sicilian Street food menu I was bitterly disappointed, bread was served with out any oil or dips, the arranchini was supposed to be meat filled but most of them were just rice which was very... Annexe is a lovely restaurant beautifully appointed. Food was superb, particularly the belly pork and duck confit. We were a party of seven which included two vegetarians, who had a choice of two mains which they enjoyed. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great a real buzz but not loud. The staff were warm and friendly. Small bar area for... More

The interior of this place is beautiful, often doing 1920s themed dinners. We got some lovely breads and oils as a starter - to die for! Really fresh. The main was awful, no flavour at all! Very watery, ruined it for us. Won't be returning as they don't have much selection of mains to try.
