Visted on Tuesday. Service excellent. Atmosphere relaxed. Food amazing. Explanation from Hosts (they made us feel like guests) were informative without being intimidating. I urge you to try the wine pairing. Wines recommended to us were like condiments for the meals. And to end have a coffee. There is a tea menu as well. I see photos on this page.... More

Spent a fantastic evening sampling their 8 course taster menu. Service was excellent and all the staff were accommodating and friendly. Would recommend a visit for a special occasion as the food is very rich. Cannot fault the experience :)))))

I visited Carters on a Saturday evening. We were first through the door for the evening & we were warmly welcomed like old friends. The restaurant is light & airy with an open kitchen at the far end. All the staff are very open, friendly & knowledgable. We had the full eight course taster menu & on the whole the... More

This small restaurant is friendly and simple in its decor, but the food is generous and elaborate... delicious! A tasting menu, a bit pricey as can be expected from this well known chef, we could see Brad Carter and his team working in the kitchen and it was all worth it!

Thought it was time for a change. Not sure; nice space despite 1930's shopping strip. Service great but the issue was the food. Awful chicken liver with granola, mussels and cheese puff as snacks. It did not get better. Pheasant dumpling with Wiltshire truffle tasted of neither. Roe deer not properly cooked, red mullet not a real main course .... More

I've been fortunate to have a number of "fine dining" experiences over the past couple of years (Turners, Purnells, Simpsons and Opus etc) - so was very much looking forward to dining at Carters to see how it compared. The thing is... it doesn't compare... in fact it doesn't come close. And that's because it is genuinely in a league... More

Visited for lunch.Nice welcome by Holly and had a choice of seats.Ordered the 3 course lunch. The menu was not distinguishable which food was included in the 3 course choice and was not clear. It was explained to us but would have been nice to compare the different choices with it being documented in menu. The 3 snacks at the start were... More

The eight courses and wine pairing is a fabulous experience offering the chance to try foods you may never usually order and certainly some of the most fabulous wines I've ever had (and wouldn't usually have the opportunity to hear about let alone try). From the moment you step in the service is exemplary and friendly but not over the... More

Don't be misled by the unprepossessing surroundings or unassuming decor - this is a stunningly good restaurant. From the moment we walked in and were greeted warmly this was a wonderful experience. The staff here are passionate and very knowledgeable about food and wine, and the dishes were both great to taste and varied and interesting. The wine list was... More
