Reinvented during lockdowns more as an old fashioned corner food store supplying the locals with essentials. Simple things like top quality bread and basics such as milk, eggs and flour helped support the area when all else had to shut. Now coming back into itself...as a cafe etc but remains a place to cherish. Friendly and hard working staff make this one a true gem in the Jewellery Quarter.More

Visited the Jewellery Quarter today and used the Soda Cafe for a coffee and banquette. Food was very nice, lots of locals using cafe too. Would recommend. Sat outside and watched the world go by.

was lovely morning until i reached to this establishment.... i was not happy with my chai latte, which i was told was an authentic indian latte!!!! have never had anything like it in my life ... was more a tea than latte ... i then...proceeded to wait as it has a one in one out system, i was then called in where i explained i would either like to change my drink or receive a refund, to then be told it’s authentic & i would definitely not be getting a refund (her words) i chose other products & proceeded to leave to then be verbally abused by a customer who said i was wasting time. Absolutely disgusting customer service & would never come here againMore

This place seems popular and I’ve always wanted to check it out. I ordered a fish finger sandwich and it was delicious. Exactly what you’d hope for! The staff were friendly. Minor negative was there was a short wait on food but it was lunchtime...I guess.More

Didn’t expect to be in lockdown review mode again but.......anyway Soda Bread back to takeaway mode and essential item shop. A lifesaver and it sells the best bread. Support your local independents if you can. Highly recommended.

Popped into the cafe whilst waiting for my son to finish an appointment at the children's hospital. The staff were so friendly and the food was fab. Bacon sandwiches were the best ( as agreed by the whole family) . I chatted about my son...and the lady ( I never asked her name but wished I had) listened and as I left gave me a cake for my son, to cheer him up. What a lovely act of kindness. Amazing place, lovely food and wonderful staff.More

I'm trying to equate the rave reviews with my experience ! This corner cafe , over the road from St Paul's has just two outdoor seating areas , quite open to public traffic , & attractive inside seating ! The menu is decidedly average ,...& I enquired about a 'fish finger sandwich / bagatelle with 'tartare sauce' & salad , only to be told the 'soda bread' was 'supermarket pre-wrapped style' & the 'tartare sauce' was a well known commercial brand ! I suggested they bake their own bread , to at least it being in keeping with the cafe's name ! The bread was not at all inspiring & slightly stale , the filling was okay , & very mean with the quantity of fishfinger ! A bland 'Iced Coffee' finished off my visit ! This is not 'Artisan' , more 'Artless Down The Pan'More

Having provisioned the Jewellery Quarter since lockdown (including Peel and Stones superb bread) the cafe side has now reopened also. Good news indeed. Opening time now 08.30. Support your local independents especially when they are this good. Highly recommended.

Great for takeaway and for general provisions as hard working owner busts a gut to keep her customers happy. An independent that will deserve even more support as things return to the new normal. Highly recommended.

I always use this place for a excellent breakfast or lunch when in Birmingham and near the jewellery quarter Beware service time c and alter wildly as there’s only one bloke doing cooked breakfast so don’t go in a rush Well recommend the full English...breakfast and cappuccino to follow all under a £10 Lovley setting and staff as well - plus free wifiMore
