I love reviewing Saffron Gold because there is always something different to say. Nicky and I visited on March 6th, my having decided that there was nowhere else I would like to have a birthday meal. Noorul was his usual attentive self, made us feel very special as always and tailored a dish especially for me. Call me boring but I generally order a Lamb or Chicken Saag. However, on Nooruls recommendation he tailored a Lamb Tawa by adding spinach. I'm telling you all, it was one of the tastiest curries EVER! We have been visiting now for years, as you will see from my previous reviews. Whilst the staff do change occasionally, the quality and service do not. Even down to the humble poppadom, there was something different and special about them. A change of oil? Chef? I didnt ask but they were just perfect. Nicky loved her prawn dish too. Unbeatable! Hurrah for Saffron Gold! Be patient at weekends. It takes time to prepare great food. We tend to eat early during the week. A must visit!

We’ve had takeaways from Saffron but haven’t dined in for years. We had an earlish meal on a Thursday and even at 7pm The atmosphere was spot on. Service was fantastic and food excellent. We had lamb chops, fish curry, chicken curry and tiger prawns. Definitely our new favourite local curry restaurant.

An absolute pleasure eating here, not only is the food fantastic, but the staff are so attentive and friendly.
Came for a celebration meal on bank holiday Monday, Staff ensured table was ready for when we arrived and had the balloons I dropped if earlier on the table (so many times before this has not happened in other restaurants when I have had a special request)
This was also the last evening of eat out to help out, so the restaurant was busy, however we felt extremely safe in regard to social distancing. Advised to hand sanitise before being seated, all staff were wearing blue gloves and face masks/coverings. There was a good distance between tables, and where that wasn’t possible, Perspex screens were in place.
I’ve never written a review for any restaurant before, but so impressed with Saffron Gold’s standard with food, customer satisfaction and COVID precautions, they thoroughly deserve a ***** rating

I am Indian and my friend was not. We ordered “mild” curries for my friend to get introduced to Indian food for the first time. Both curries a lamb madras and paneer korma were loaded with sugar. Being an Indian I can tell you we don’t put a single spoon of sugar in either of these dishes let alone a jug full. There were no other spices in either.
I told the waiter the food was awful and they simply bought us out the bill to pay for it. None of the waiters could actually even understand what I said in English so I don’t believe they even understood that I said the food was horrible and loaded with sugar.
Utterly disgusting and weird experience will of course never return.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children visiting Warwick, we managed to convince our son who doesn't like indian food to go to Saffron Gold restaurant.
We had different main courses and all of them very absolutely superb. The meat was perfectly cooked and the sauces delicious.
It was clean plates for all including our son who know look forward to more good indian food.
All the guests were spaced out and the staff were wearing plastic gloves and face-masks to make guests feel comfortable.
Last but not least the services was perfect from when we entered to we left after receiving hot towels which was a nice touch.

This review should have been 5 stars all the way, but I have found that 2 of my last 4 reservations with differing Indian restaurants in different places have been a total let down upon arrival, when they are not expecting you. My Wife and I had not been to Saffron Gold for about 10 years as we live around 100 miles away. I made the reservation online and got an e-mail reply with completely the wrong date and day of the week. Mailed back and told them they were a week out with the date and day I'd requested and then I got reply telling me all was well and they were sorry for the typo. So it's very annoying and off putting to arrive and then be told 'we're not expecting you'. Their fault, not mine.
The food was still great, and the service was very efficient, but it still leaves a downer on the overall experience when they can't get a simple reservation right.

We booked a table for New Years eve and were pleasantly surprised that although the restaurant was packed that there was very little wait to be seated, the service was friendly and as quick as could be expected. The food was excellent and although only a limited menu was available (understandable on such a busy day) there was plenty of choice. The DJ was playing good tunes and not too loud, we weren't around for the late service but it looked like they were gearing up for a real party. Will be back.

Our first visit back to a restaurant since they reopened. I was quite nervous going in but it was a much better experience than I though. Staff all had masks or face shields on and gloves which made us feel a lot safer. Tables fairly well spaced too. Throughout our visit the staff were all excellent, polite and friendly and obviously grateful to have customers back.
The food was excellent, no complaints at all, we left empty plates which is rare for us in an Indian.
Overall great experience, we’ll be back when we’re next in Warwick.

We have eaten before and booked an early table for 7.15 on New Year's Eve. Place was full of people from Warwick races. Queue out the door and the bar 4 deep. We couldn't get in to say we had arrived and other people in the queue had a similar experience. Having told 2 staff members we had arrived but had been stuck outside we were told in our complaint we had not checked in!!! I understand restaurants etc are struggling but absolutely no concession was given to the fact we had booked. Our complaint was dismissed which considering this has a one if the best restaurants sign in the window is unbelievable. You would be better off in Smith St where there are a couple of very good Indian restaurants

I ate with my wife and two kids on our one night in Warwick and I’m delighted that I did. The social distancing was excellent with the tables very well spaced out and staff wearing lots of PPE. They were very attentive and were great with my kids.
The food was superb! I had the salmon tikka, my son is the Lamb Makhani and adjustments were made for my wife and daughter’s vegan options. The veg rogan Josh was the overall winner but I loved the salmon, Sag Bhagi and coconut rice.
We will be stopping in Warwick again!

The meal was lovely the second time ordered and collected. Deliveroo driver drove past me according to the map several times, but claims didn’t see me standing outside or the shell garage next door. Reordered meal and collected. Full refund doesn’t make up for stressful meal started 2hours later. Ruined the birthday celebration.
Will use restaurant again but not Deliveroo Couldn’t have been much worse if they had tried.

Went here for the second and final night of my Wife's 60th Birthday weekend.
After a frankly disappointing experience in central Warwick the previous night, this was how guests, and birthday ones at that, should be treated,
Despite living in Bristol, we've been coming here for the past 15 years or so and this visit was the best of them all.
The staff are friendly and attentive and the service and food is beyond reproach.
At the end of a memorable meal it was also nice to see this restaurant make an effort and acknowledge it was my Wife's birthday. We couldn't have been happier
Thank you Saffron Gold - 10/10 !!

Loved this place. As a vegetarian who hates spicy food I always order a korma, but our waiter Kam kindly encouraged us to try some new dishes which he assured weren’t spicy and he was right, the vegetable Makhani was delicious and we would order that again. First night in Warwick a success!

We had a takeaway, perharps the positive reviews are from people that ate in but we ordered two currys, onion bhajis and poppadums. The chicken curry looked and tasted like it had lots of artificial ingredients, the prawn curry was a little better. The salad garnish smelled and looked stale so wasn't eaten. The onion bhaji was undercooked and very greasy, we also didn't eat the rice as it had a very pungent rice.

What a gem of a place this is. I wasn’t overly keen on the onion bhaji starter, it was a bit dry for me but everything else is amazing. My husband had the mixed meat starter which was excellent, for mains I had a chicken tikka balti, which was so tasty, every ingredient had its own flavour and the onions in it were a delight. Our other main was a chicken tikka roshni, a first time try and it was fantastic. It’s socially distanced seating and all the staff are wearing face coverings and gloves. Would 100% go back, thoroughly enjoyed a great night here.
