Went on a stormy Saturday night in February on a pre-booked groupon deal, can’t fault the rib eye steaks we had served with hot french fries and ample mixed leaf side salad, decided to have apple crumble and custard which was lovely although Eton mess served to opposite table looked really yummy. Finished off with two lattes. I also had a pint of Ubo ale to go with groupon included pinots. Service was good. Have decided to return in the Spring so that we can appreciate more the riverside location. Would have been nice on a stormy day if the fire had been lit.

We had a table of 6 booked on Saturday, on arrival we had a warm welcome from waitress who was very polite and friendly. Nice selection of red & white wine, we choose Appassimento red wine which was very nice!! We all decided to order ribeye steak and I would like to say it was the best steak I had it was cooked to perfection (rare to medium), my wife had blue steak (which again was cooked to perfection) and full of flavours. Our friends loved the place and decor. Thank you The Frog for the amazing meal, we will be back soon

the location is very nice, next to the river. I chose to have butternut squash risotto, then I was told the risotto was actually with mushrooms, then I was told that it was with asparagus. The vegetables were invisible, the risotto was way overcooked and smothered in cream. We also asked for the salad to be without onions and of course there were onions in it. They should pay a bit more attention to customers' needs. They put a dollop of garlic butter on the stake, not everyone likes garlic, it should be stated that the stake comes with it.

We where visiting from scotland . Monday we went to the beautiful The Bridge in Bidford-on-Avon and decided to try The Frog !! What a mistake we had 3 adults and 4 children two where very young 3 and 1 it took some time for anyone even to sit us we put our order in 6.40pm we waited and waited at 7.45pm my children the young ones where so upset by this point , nobody came over to say our food would be this late even the children’s meals ... nobody asked to top our drinks up while we waited my husband went over multiple times now agitated to ask where our food was as two other groups who came in after us had been served their food !! After an hour and a half the children’s meals came out then our meals came out half cooked the dough was still raw from our pizza !! There are multiple small things about the food but I don’t want to be that petty as I have never complained like this or about something like this before .. after all this we where still charged over £100 for food we didn’t eat and had to wait an hour and a half for nearly 2 hours .. no offering of drinks (which we had to go to the bar for while waiting ) not even a 10% discount off of the bill for the wait with young children while everyone else was served their meals . I know times are tough because of covid, but two days before we had a beautiful meal no waiting time, right next door and lovely service . So upset and disappointed

I’ve been coming to the frog for about 5yrs. It used to be run by a fab couple who always made you feel welcome, & the food was brilliant. Sadly the place has since been taken over & the change is awful. The menu is poor, & the food abysmal. I paid £18 for a steak a couple of weeks ago & my dog had most of it as it was predominantly fat & gristle. I informed the waitress who collected my plate but she just walked away. I decided to give it another go this evening & thought I’d play it safe by ordering a salad - surely you can’t go wrong with a salad? How wrong I was... I ordered The Frog Salad but received what I think was a really poor Caesar Salad. Whatever it was was swimming in dressing, & the salad itself left a lot to be desired. The only items available for kids are chicken nuggets, pizza, fish fingers... My kids don’t get given frozen junk at home, so it would be nice to see something a bit more imaginative on a pub menu for them. People skills weren’t the waitresses strong point; no smile, no “hello”. She didn’t offer condiments or salt & pepper. Nor did she return to our table to ask if our food was ok. As for social distancing... what social distancing? I was of the belief that my details should’ve been taken for track & trace purposes, they weren’t. My visit a couple of weeks ago saw lots of empty tables that were filled with empty glasses, plates etc, the place wasn’t busy, so why were they not being collected? The food is brought directly to your table when it should really be put on a designated table for customers to collect, & another one for them to put their plates when finished, therefore reducing the need to interact physically with staff, so reducing the risk of contamination/exposure. Sadly a few arrows on the floor isn’t enough to protect people. I’ll be going to the Broom Tavern for food in future. Incredibly friendly, AMAZING food, & outstanding precautions in place to reduce risk of covid. I’ve spoken to a number of locals who now give the frog a wide berth since it’s changed hands, & it’s such a shame because it’s in a beautiful location & used to be my happy place!

Went with two families and ordered straight after each other told them we were on the same table.first family received food within 40 mins second family were forgotten about ended up waiting over an hour then were brought the wrong meals. Waitress told us we’d been forgotten about then when meals were eventually brought out they came 15 mins apart from eachother. We complained to the manager who was quite rude about the situation but said we could have complimentary desserts so we ordered desserts at the bar then a waitress came over to ask if we wanted desserts then when we told her we’d ordered she said that the desserts had been forgotten. Waited another half hour before desserts started coming out, we complained to a waiter who said he’d never been to a restaurant so disorganised. In half an hour only 3 of the 8 desserts had been brought out then when the next two desserts came which were both Eton mess we decided to leave the pub because they were appalling. It was a dish full of defrosted sloppy berries and squirty cream, no meringue at all. We stood up to leave and went to complain again to the manager who was taking another compliant from another customer. He said nothing to us other than ‘that’s how we do Eton mess’ so we left immediately. Terrible service and terrible food. DO NOT GO HERE IT IS ATROCIOUS!

staying locally, was the only place open on a Sunday night, bit worrying as it was not busy. We asked for chicken wings, told they had run out, so I ordered prawns, £7 for 5 luke warm prawns on a skewer with a huge side salad/lettuce. Ordered the wagyu burger, told they had run out, so went with chicken steak with mushroom sauce, when it arrived, the frozen chips (I didnt expect anything else) must have come from the bottom of the bag, they were all tiny bits and hollow shells. The mushroom sauce looked like watery custard, and the side salad, just like the starter was a huge pile of lettuce. In fairness the chicken was nicely cooked, but then how hard is it to char grill a butterflied chicken breast. Was totally disappointed and will not return for food, just ripping off the unaware tourists who have a 50/50 choice, the Bridge or the Frog. And for info we have not tried the bridge yet.

My partner and I have recently moved to the village so tried the frog. The pub itself is lovely and has a nice outdoor area for nice days however we shall not be returning due to attitude of a member of staff. We placed an order for 2 pizzas, on a not busy day, and after 45 mins had to chase them up, to which we were told they would be 5 mins and just coming out of the oven. 25 mins later they arrived. The waitress offered no apology so I told the waitress I wasn’t really happy that we were told 5 mins 25 mins ago to which she snapped that it wasn’t her fault and she only told us what the kitchen told her. I said I was expressing that I was unhappy to a front of house member of staff as she was our server and that we knew it wasn’t her fault. She continued to roll her eyes, tutting and shrugging her shoulders at us. The food was delicious but our experience was let down by such a horrible server. We informed the senior member of staff on the way out who was wonderful. We explained we really didnt mind the wait in food, orders get missed or other things happen, we understood as we have both worked in the industry in the past but there was no reason for such bad service. I was polite to her when expressing I was unhappy that we were misinformed but the response was unreasonable. The manager offered us discount, which we refused as the food was lovely, so offered us discount next visit but we said we sadly would not be returning as I do not wish to be spoken to in such a manner. We only wish that he had served us as he was delightful, understanding and apologetic of our experience.

Sadly our food order didn't actually make it to the kitchen, so after waiting 45 minutes for our food, we had to wait a further 20 minutes for some chicken burgers and a steak which came 10 minutes apart. Mistakes happen and it can't be easy serving everyone outdoors, but management let themselves down by not handling the problem properly. The waiting staff were very apologetic and the food was pretty good for the price, so compliments to the chef, but we were served by four different members of staff, so mistakes are bound to happen if waiting staff aren't allocated set areas to focus on. Advice for management. Customers understand that mistakes happen, but you have to own those mistakes. The customer shouldn't have to pay for your mistakes. Apologise and offer a partial refund. It need only be 20-25%, but the vast majority of customers would say "fair enough, they made a mistake and they've compensated us for it. Move on". Having finally received all of our food, we were offered a free drink for the inconvenience caused. When you've waited that long you just want to eat and move on, you're not going to be interested in having another drink, so you're bound to still feel aggrieved.

The service and slow and the staff seemed genuinely surprised (or perhaps perplexed) at us wanting to order food. The didn’t seem to comprehend people came there to eat. This did then explain the slow service, that they forgot our drinks and then the substandard basic food. Clearly a restaurant that survives by catering to the tourists who don’t know better.

Having travelled out to somewhere different for a family lunch it was the worse £50 I’ve spent in a long time. First we waited 30 minutes for a drink. Food arrived over hour 20 minutes after. The table was filthy so having asked twice for it to be cleaned I eventually got some wipes from the car and cleaned the table myself. Our food arrived swimming in grease and by daughters burger was hard in the middle. Quite clearly had been microwaved. As we were made to prepay for our meal because we were eating in the garden I had lost the will to live to complain further. Numerous people left having waited forever to just order a drink. Apparently they were short staffed which resulted in the poor young waitress bursting into tears because of all the complaints. I would have thought after restaurants have been closed during lockdown it gives them plenty of time to reflect and get their ship together. Needless to say shall not be returning to this place!!

We had Groupon steak voucher, knowing that whatever the meal was like, the setting is excellent, overlooking the river on a sunny July evening. As it was, the ribeye steak was really quite good, knob of garlic butter on top, lovely peppercorn sauce, and nice side salad, but the chips were some of the best I've ever had; probably double or triple cooked, and superb. My partner is fussy about quality salad and chips, and her's were demolished! Sorry about the photo, but I was enjoying the food too much, and forgot to take a picture before the salad went. The voucher also included a glass of wine, again pretty good, and with the quick and polite service we received, it was a great way to end our busy working week. The Frog is only a five minute drive for us, and will definitely be visited again this summer.

Our first trip to the Frog and not a very successful one. It was fairly shambolic.. the staff were lovely but the rest wasn’t great. We were shown to our table after some confusion with our booking. It took some time before our order was taken and no one had previously asked if we wanted drinks ( we did!) we then ordered only for a waitress to come back 5 minutes later to say they were all out of the meal I ordered. I reordered and then we had the long wait if over an hour for our food. Bearing in mind the restaurant wasn’t full. We were then given someone else’s food and this was hastily taken away and given to the couple behind us who had also waited over an hour. We were told ours were next.... it wasn’t. Our meals eventually came out although my husband was ready to walk out by this time. To be he enjoyed his meal. Mine on the other hand wasn’t very hot and we had to ask and then wait for the sides to be served. By this time many of the other tables were complaining. The table of 6 by us had their starters and then waited another 50 minutes for their mains.. then only half the meals came out as they hadn’t cooked the other two.. rightly so the guests made a real fuss.. other tables at this time were making a decision to just leave. It was chaos.. I have no idea how they got it so wrong!! Such a shame but has really put me off from returning again. The staff were apologetic when I shared my thoughts with them but the management really need to look at how they can improve the service.

Stopped off for a post cycle ride pizza and pint - one way system and staff in masks was nice to see. Excellent pizza - probably the best I've had outside the USA. Good beer and a nice deck overlooking the river. My only gripe would be that the basic price of the pizza was slightly higher than I would like (a pound really) and not keen on the idea of Three Toppings for £4 or Five toppings for £6 - I would have prefered just a list of toppings at a pound each.

Since moving to the area in February 2020 this is our local and we have enjoyed a few meals here . Since lockdown we have missed the ambience of going in but today had a takeaway roast - it was a total treat - superb value tasty and we bought a reasonably priced bottle of red from them too . We shall be doing this again for sure !!!
