I have visited many times and this is one of my favourite places for afternoon tea and also dinner. The food and service is outstanding. We even got married here 2 years ago which was fabulous. My only bugbear is that there is NO atmosphere whatsoever. Just a little background music would take the edge off the formality. I have... More

We spent a Saturday afternoon with friends and I must say the food and drink was fantastic. All four of us could not fault the experience, we will definitely be back !

I took my wife for the tasting menu and wine tasting menu. Amazing! The staff were so attentive and the food and wine simple exquisite. The sommelier, Alex, was brilliant and each course was a delight. Thank you for a perfect evening.

My wife bought me a Sunday Lunch voucher for Christmas and I was really looking forward to this as I had heard some good reports and good reviews. We went with friends who had done the same offer. As it turns out the voucher cost was the same as the 3 course lunch but it's the thought that counts! We... More

The hotel is located a short walk from Ifield metro station in a part of Newcastle that is called Jesmond. I was early for lunch and had a coffee in the lounge it was warm welcoming and the hostess made me feel at home. I was shown to my table overlooking the garden and was offered a selection of bread... Have been here several times and visited last week with two friends. Everyone enjoyed their food. The goats cheese starter and the roast salmon were beautifully cooked and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak, which he had previously enjoyed a week or so ago. He was glad to see it was still on the menu. We don't bother with deserts... More

What a place for a fine dining experience. Great setting and the service was what you would expect in a quality establishment. The food was very good, without being top class. A very good experience.

During the busy week between Christmas Day and New Year is my birthday. After over-indulging in food and all the other accompaniments of Christmas, the last thing I really wanted was another meal. But I hadn't visited this restaurant before but had heard many compliments about it so I was ready to give it a try. I think my comment... More

Description
Our award-winning Restaurant (three AA Rosettes) is based on simple but firm principles. We start with the best ingredients we can find, preferably local (some from the hotel garden), and we believe taste is more important than style. Our Head Chef, Michael Penaluna, and his team, make it their business to get to know our suppliers, then use their skills to produce dishes that enhance rather than confuse the flavours. Classic techniques but a contemporary approach to produce Modern British dishes that are light, fresh, flavoursome. Whether you fancy our breakfast which is bigger, tastier and healthier than ever, great value Lunch Menu, House Menu Dinner Menu, you'll find an atmosphere that's warm, relaxed and friendly. Our Restaurant has two dining areas: the former music room with earthy tones and fun splashes or orange and the light and leafy Garden Room with its summer terrace.
