Went here with my work mates to celebrate. We were sat choosing our food and getting drinks. Everyone was calm and polite. I took a photo of my 2 pints to post on FB and say 'cheers' to my friends in Japan. I asked the waiter how to say it in Japanse and all I got back was sneering comments.... More

We had an interesting evening, the chef entertaining us was great, he cooked skilfully and made the experience ok, the kids were thoroughly entertained. However this is not Japanese food, more like poor Chinese stir fry.

My husband and I went here on New Years Eve. The food isn't amazing, I think most people probably go to places like this for the entertainment rather than the food! It was our first time visiting a teppanyaki so we didn't really know what to expect. The staff were very friendly and they put on a good show. It... More

Amazing restaurant, especially for large groups, with hugely talented chefs, delicious food which is cooked right in front of you and a wonderful atmosphere. I can't recommend this place enough!!

Used to be a regular customer visiting 1-2 times a month, as well choosing this restaurant for many family occasions, but now I would never go back. It was one of my friends birthday so 6 of us had a table booked for 8:45PM, we arrived and were told the table would be 20 mins so we bought some drinks... More

We had a great time at this restaurant. We arrived at 6pm and were a little worried because there was no other customers there, we had a drink on arrival before moving to our table. The restaurant filled up quickly and this made the atmosphere better - not that we really noticed because we had our own entertainment at the... More

Myself and my family love this place. We have been going for most family occasions for the past 5 years now and look forward to it. We even have friends who visit us from Leeds who only come up if we go there! We always go as quite a large group (at least 15 of us) and the chefs are... More

Been here a few times for birthdays and it never fails to impress. The chefs get to know you and are so full of energy making every effort to engage everyone. The food is delicious and so filling (you end up with about 5/6 mini courses) defiantly need to book in advance as it gets very busy. Also let them... More

Really enjoyed our evening here for our daughter's birthday. Chef was very entertaining and there was a great atmosphere. Food was beautifully cooked, full of flavour and good value considering the quality of the ingredients. Would definitely recommend, especially for a special occasion.

Description
Fujiyama Teppanyaki Restaurant is the first and original teppanyaki restaurant established in Newcastle Upon Tyne. It first opened it's doors to the public in 1997.

It is the perfect venue for entertaining clients you need to impress or to celebrate special occasions such as a birthday or a hen/stag night.

All customers have their own highly trained personal chef for the duration of the meal. Once you are taken to your table, the raw ingredients of your meal will shortly arrive and the chef will prepare and cook your meal on the hotplate surface, right in front of you. The food is delivered to you sizzling fresh.

Our menu is extensive, accommodating both carnivores and herbivores. Many customers opt for one of our set banquets which are perfectly compiled to leave a pleasant feeling of satisfaction, not too much and not too little.

Alternatively you may wish to customise and create you own meal by selecting starters from the appetisers menu and main courses from the ala carte menu, and some may even brave it to our sushi page.
