This is a small, well decorated restaurant on 2 levels. It has a nice atmosphere with non-intrusive music. Some staff are friendlier than others ( a smile would not go amiss with one certain lady). The menu is interesting if not extensive, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Unfortunately it was made somewhat smaller with several items not available.... More

Visited on Saturday night with 3 friends. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal - goats cheese starter, chicken main and creme brulee pud. So nice to eat out and the food is as good as you can cook at home. Tasty and good quality - very rare these days. Can highly recommend. Thank you.

First time visiting this hidden gem in its picturesque and quaint surroundings. The welcome was warm, the friendly service diligent, the fixed price lunch menu diverse and the food was hearty, wholesome. The whole experience was as close to perfection as a loving lunch soiree should be. Absolutely astounding value for money. Really looking forward to our return

We always get a great welcome when we eat at the Bistro and today was no exception. We had a drink and we were shown to our table. The staff were all friendly and took our order efficiently. The entire meal was tasty, hot and the vegetables were freshly cooked.

We had dinner for two at Bistro le Coq recently and although the food was good, unfussy and well priced, there are still areas the place could improve on. And it's mostly to do with the servers and consistency of the food served. We got to the restaurant on Saturday evening and we were invited by the lady at the... More

Visited this evening early doors between 6-7pm. Took advantage of the fixed price menu. Stunning food, such a hidden gem, my favourite restaurant!

Visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch with family members having never been before. We didnt want a traditional Sunday lunch so was attracted to the menu here as there was a good selection of other foods alongside roast beef and Yorkshire pudding etc. We chose from the £10 for two courses (£13 for three) menu and all our party enjoyed... This out of the way venue in a small Staffordshire village is ideal for lunch or dinner. The fixed price lunch at £10 for 3 courses was excellent value. Courses were large enough for you to leave feeling comfortable, Quality of the service and food was good and some variety to the menu giving you plenty of options. we found... More

Not often in this area but taken by friends for lunch - what a lovely surprise! Never really expected it but the best food I've had for years - and I'm very picky having dined in many 5 star glitzy city restaurants - and so reasonably priced. Cannot fault any of the courses - starter, chicken goujons; main course -... More

There were 8 of us for a birthday celebration and the meal, the service, the excellence of presentation and the who evening was everything our friends had always promised! What a thoroughly delightful evening. The Gateaux de Fromage Bleu was utterly amazing. We would be very happy to eat there again ... and again .... !!
