Ever since I was a teenager I have enjoyed eating in Indian restaurants and the Bengal Brasserie ticks all the right boxes for me. The atmosphere is proper Indian restaurant; it's cosy, with booths to sit in and the walls are unpretentiously bright in the way that only South Asians can pull off. On the night we visited, the place... More

We hadn't been to this restaurant in many years, as me as once children came along, are eating out got less. It has the same layout with some free standing tables one end and quite a few intimate booth at the other. The decor has been updated with the dark purple replaced by whites and blues, but i think I... More

We stopped a local and asked for a good Indian restaurant and they recommended the Bengal Brasserie. The entrance is quite small as the restaurant is downstairs .We took it in turns to have a look, bobbing in and out like rabbits down a warren which was a weird way to start dinner! What swung it was the fact that... More

We have visited this restaurant many times but unfortunately this will be our last. We went for our kids 16th and 18yh birthdays. The food was fine but serving staff were bored and rude. We had to ask twice for our drinks which did not arrive till after our food. We were served by at least 3 staff, not one... More

Another visit and we love this Indian restaurant. Authentic and freshly made food. Really tasty and great little restaurant with attentive staff. Thoroughly enjoyed it and not too pricey either. Friendly staff. Will definitely re-visit.

A fantastic restaurant in the heart of bath. We were in bath for a birthday celebration and the food was outstanding. Great service and staff were willing to help. Very pleased with our meal. It takes a lot for a curry to impress me but this will take some beating!

Lovely resturant. We had one for the best Indian meals we had ever eaten. Don't let the fact it's downstairs put you off. Food was amazing. Lovely staff & service. Would really recommend

This is a small compact restaurant. Although small the way the tables have been set out it doesnt feel cramped and everyone has their space. The food was excellent, we went for the traditional Friday night fare of curry and beer. The service was good (it was a very busy Friday night) and the food served was cooked well, beautifully... Wondered across this place on a weekend in Bath. Doesn't look much from the outside but it's worth the risk. Expect to wait for a table if you haven't booked, lovely staff, lovely food, and a great atmosphere! Highly recommended!
