Friendly greeting and shown to our table. There were 7 of us and we were allowed to settle and asked what drinks we would like shortly afterwards. The menu had a good selection that would cater for most likes. I had the calamari which was...More

It’s unpleasant to read this angry review, and for you to say that our previous tripadvisor reviews are false is not at all fair. We do not like anyone to leave disappointed with the Bathwick Boatman, we take all criticism very seriously which is why...More

Out for dinner. I get to eat out a lot, and this restaurant is special. I’d decided it would be my favourite restaurant before we’d even got our food. Warm welcome. Lovely smells. Cosy and friendly. A menu where I wanted to order everything. Gin...More

We arrived in the snow...sadly the restaurant was quiet. Our vegetarian food was really tasty and the setting was lovely. It’s a shame about the weather it’s clear to see there would have been a lovely atmosphere had the restaurant been busy.

I would (hopefully) say NOT, since I have never seen any 'pets' in over 20 visits, and the one room restaurant is not very big. Personally I would be glad such if pets are kept out of there as there are no facilities for... More

Description
The Bathwick Boatman is a tranquil slice of gastronomic heaven, located just 10 minutes stroll from Bath's city centre on the picture-perfect banks of the River Avon. Run by husband and wife restaurateur team Ben and Rosy Hall, the restaurant is set in an old rowing club with beautiful river views and a cosy, rustic ambience. After training in Italy and Spain, Ben worked in Miami before returning home to Britain, and his simple, seasonal menu is full of robust flavours and represents good old-fashioned value for money. The Bathwick Boatman has a divine summer terrace, and is perched just above Bath's historic boating station, where you can hire a punt or a rowing boat for a post-meal paddle.
