We enjoyed the 6 course tasting menu especially the deer course which was our favourite overall We were 2 couples celebrating 2 birthdays and a wedding anniversary. Overall the experience was enjoyable but slightly marred by a very noisy table next to us which made...conversation difficult. We enjoyed our coffee and chocolates in the lounge. Lovely and peaceful !More

Tasting menus can be tricky to negotiate but the Olive Tree has the right attitude catering to customers tastes. Often it is a like it or leave it attitude but not so here. Firstly, you can have the full nine courses, six or even just...four and it doesn't stop there as there are a few variations across the various menus which they are happy to allow you to choose from. Or as in my wife's case she is not a fan of goat’s cheese which was part of one of the dishes, the chefs were only too happy to substitute another cheese in its place. I went for the nine courses which actually turned out to be eleven courses. As well as the nine courses form the menu there was an appetiser, a really nice bread course and an extra chocolate treat after the 3 dessert courses. Each of the courses are truly unique and considering the ingredients, preparation and the number of staff I believe it represents good value. The creativity in dishes such as Jerusalem artichoke, Exmoor caviar, hazelnuts and maple syrup or Islands chocolate with Manni olive oil and Pedro Ximenez are pure skill. Impossible to choose even a favourite dish from first, second or third courses. As well as the nine courses I also went for the nine tasting wines which is always a gamble and maybe if I visit again I would choose my own wine as there were perhaps three out of the nine which I didn’t like but wine and how it tastes is unique to each individual. The staff were all wonderful and knowledgeable but my only criticism would be that each course seemed rushed and with little or no time between each dish let alone the courses and the descriptions and tasting notes for the wines were delivered at machine gun speed.More

The Olive Tree has been a favourite of ours for some years. It was a little sad when a year or so ago it fell short of its norm on a one-off occasion, but last week's meal was right back to the top-class restaurant that...it is. Bath has no shortage of excellent restaurants. The Olive Tree is unique among them, offering its full imaginative cuisine over 3, 4, 6 or 9 courses, each one as exciting on the eye as it is on the palette. My wife is pescatarian/vegetarian and was allowed to choose between three menus over the six courses we went for, making it easy for her to enjoy an uncompromisingly excellent meal. Aside from the cuisine, of which I can only say, go there and enjoy it, the wine list caters for the higher and more modest ends of preferences. And the restaurant is very informal by comparison to other high-end restaurants. Jeans and fairly casual dress is normal, but some customers do dress up more. And the service perfectly balances a relaxed informal friendliness with the courtesy and knowledgable staff you would expect from this type of establishment. For us, six courses was perfect for our appetites. The portion size is perfect, and we walked away feeling exactly as the chef would want - neither stuffed, nor wanting more. The flexibility over the number of courses makes it easy to visit on many types of occasion. Of course, no-one would describe the restaurant as cheap, and, for most people, this is not a restaurant for every-day eating, but the pricing sits comfortably in the more modest end of the top-class restaurant scale. As for dishes, I refuse to highlight any of them - everything was perfect, and the staff will explain each one if you wish. Nothing will disappoint, I expect. Overall, I could not recommend The Olive Tree more if you're looking for top class cuisine at Michelin-star level, in an informal but delightful setting.More

Fantastic! Everything was great. Excellent service. Very considered and well curated wine list. Food was exceptional. To pick a highlight is difficult but the sauce for the langoustine was possibly the best sauce I’ve enjoyed anywhere ever, including many other Michelin starred restaurants. Go there,...you will not regret it.More

Nine with wine; I didn’t read the menu just trusted the Team. Absolutely outstanding - immaculate, enthusiastic (young chefs serving the dishes they have made) and friendly service, knowledgeable without being intrusive. Beautiful food and a broad spectrum. Jerusalem artichoke a standout (caviar and maple...syrup mind blowing). I’ve read some reviews suggesting poor desserts - wrong! The chocolate with Manni olive oil and cocoa nib ice cream probably the overall best dish. And great wine pairings - from British pinot noir, Sicilian orange wine, champagne, port and more. Solo dining can be an odd experience but not here and there was a lovely buzz about the place with all diners enjoying the experience. Terrific.More

The food and service was second to none, we had a very nice time the only thing I have to say is maybe improve the decor. Grey seems to be the interior colour of choice at the moment, being a graphic designer I have my...doubts about this. When there are millions of vivid and brilliant colours nature gives us, we humans choose grey. The colour scheme does not have to be garish or loud, but just the right balance of colour's to add atmosphere to the room.More

Gorgeous little spot. Great hospitality and service. And the food was delicious. To be honest, for a place with a Michelin star, I found the set lunch menu more than reasonably priced. We will be back!

We had the 4 tasting menu. We arrived to have a cocktail in the bar. The cocktails were very good but not in a nice glass which was a shame. It was beautifully decorated but not very comfortable. Staff were helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable. The...restaurant was a little like sitting in a corridor, again not very comfortable. It’s a shame the duck wasn’t on the menu for me. I don’t eat beef and that includes Veal and venison both on the menu. I loved the langoustine dish and the chocolate lips were wonderful. I thought the staff that brought the meals and their commentary of the dishes seemed nervous and inexperienced. A couple of the dishes were presented on corn and shells which at first we thought were edible but they weren’t. This seemed very odd and not attractive either. We ended up spitting it out. Although some dishes were delicious I didn’t feel there was enough to temp me again.More

We’d a great time at this restaurant! I got the nine course menu with wine pairings, which made the experience even better. The langoustine plate did bring me back in time to a restaurant (that no longer exists) where I used to taste something similar...and that made me feel really, really happy. All the main dishes were insanely delicious, but my favorite one was the Sharpham Park Farm Spelt (sooooo tasteful). And the favorite dessert (we three agreed on that) was the Pineapple one. Congratulations to the chef! Thank you to think about every single detail 🤤 It’s even better if you have the opportunity to stay in the hotel (which is also a very cozy hotel). Se você for brbr é um lugar bem caro (mas acredito que a calculadora vá te lembrar disso melhor que eu hehehe ainda assim, pra quem gosta de um bom restaurante essa experiência vale!!!!! ✨)More
