We had dinner at Clayton's Kitchen on Sunday evening. Decor was shabby chic/minimalist style in pale greys, white etc. A little cramped with tables quite close together. However a warm ambience, small jazz band playing, giving a relaxed, chilled atmosphere. The food was delicious! My...More

We went for dinner last Saturday, we were earlier for our booking but they had no problem to accommodate us. The decor in the restaurant cannot be classier, as well as the presentation of the dishes. We had the bread selection for starters with the...More

Menu was varied and interesting. I loved the decor, bright, minimalist and interesting. Service was efficient on both our visits and good value. Absolutely loved the duck and risotto. Would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

Lovely friendly service. I agree with others, the welcome could be better. Why have details of your reservations away from the entrance. At least have a list of that days bookings. Food was good quality and well presented. As a group of four we had...More

Pretty much faultless for the money, not that the table next to us had quite the same experience (the waiting staff incorrectly delivered their food to the table next to them who accepted it without issue and started eating, only slightly later did they realise...More

Approx 5-10 minute walk from Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. You can book online, they serve lunch and evening meal, it's very popular so I would definitely book first.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, Clayton's Kitchen at The Porter, is the culinary home to The Porter's resident chef Rob Clayton. Rob has previously gained a Michelin star at Hunstrete House and another at Bath Priory. Delicious seasonal dishes using the freshest quality ingredients are the inspiration for Rob's menus. This, coupled with the restaurant's friendly, relaxed vibe and carefully chosen wine list, makes Clayton's Kitchen at The Porter a favourite whether you are a die-hard foodie, dropping by for a casual bite to eat or simply picking up some treats from the Clayton's Kitchen range. Rob began perfecting his art in 1988 at Ménage à Trois London, achieving his first Michelin star aged just 25 as head chef at Hunstrete House Hotel. He remains one of the youngest chefs ever to do so. Rob gained a second Michelin Star as executive head chef at the Bath Priory. Since then his work has continued to achieve high praise, winning Pub Company Menu of the year and Food Champion of the Year.
