Went for a Sunday roast dinner here. 4 choices of meat, HUGE yorkshire puddings, 2 vegetables (slightly undercooked for my taste but others may disagree!) and roasties a-plenty. All delicious... They have games and books available for use, which is a nice touch. I've already recommended this pub to a friend who is visiting Bath next week. (warning to tall... More

Went in at the weekend with a friend for some late lunch, the pub was obviously popular with people arriving all the time. We managed to find a lovely cosy spot, went to the bar which was busy but I was served promptly. The lady who served me was friendly and polite took my order and the food came out... More

We decided to go for a roast dinner at this place. I have a serious nut allergy, although the decor is lovely I was told that I couldn't have the dinner at all because they were a 'non allergy' kitchen so any allergies they wouldn't cater for. When asked why, they said it was the marinate they cook the meat... More

On seeing the sign outside displaying breakfast until 12.00, I thought I would give it a try. From the outside it looks small and easy to miss, but inside its spacious and very comfortable. There are many beers, ciders and lagers to choose from as well as the vast array of wines and spirits and of course various coffee's and... More

We called in here for Sunday lunch in mid October, my hunters chicken was very dry, and my wife's roast pork dinner was better but let down by a very soggy Yorkshire pudding. Nice atmosphere if your just having a drink, but avoid the food.

We stopped here for lunch in Bath after visiting The Roman Baths. We both had the roast beef which was lovely, served very attractively with yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, green beans, gravy and horseradish sauce. Good value for money, a nice atmosphere and a clean and well presented public house. Thank you for a lovely lunch!

I visited the Westgate yesterday with my wife and two young children for a Sunday roast. I must say that, though it was extremely busy, both the service and food were very prompt. The two roasts, beef and pork, were delicious and the dessert no less so. On the whole, I heartily recommend this place and look forward to my... More

Good pub grub, prices are what you would expect for a pub in Bath, around £10 per head for a main meal. Both are meals were very good, and there was plenty of it. The pub is nicely done and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They have a large selection of beers to chose from, which... More

Having been here numerous times, and sampled something different off the menu, on each occasion. I have to say, that the quality certainly hasn't disappointed. My experience of this establishment, leads me to feel confident of the high standards of the food on offer. Especially Sunday Roast. The staff as always nice, welcoming and helpful. Very well organized when busy... More

Visited The West Gate Pub for a late lunch. It was fairly quiet with about 4 or 5 tables with diners and a few people sat around drinking. The furniture and decor are quirky but interesting. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. I ordered the scampi and chips. The food came very quickly and was very hot, freshly... More
