My partner and I were visiting Bath for the first time and stumbled across this pub by chance, and what a happy accident it turned out to be! Staff were warm, friendly and knowledgeable able to answer any questions we had about the menu. The...More

Booked late Sunday lunch after weekend in Bath - admittedly on the same day. Booking was accepted, but had a call 45 mins before we were due to sit down to say they weren’t taking any more food orders as they’d run out of everything....More

We arrived for Sunday lunch and had the pub entirely to ourselves for a while, allowing us to enjoy the peaceful traditional pub atmosphere. The bar and waiting staff were very friendly and we chose our meals from the short Sunday menu: roast beef, fish...More

A little gem of a find. A lovely selection of drinks on show and the manager was the most accommodating and friendly of people. Only popped in for a quick one but stayed for a few hours.

This is a lovely old pub featuring Bath Ales. The beer we drank was Bath Gem, one of our favourites, and it was perfect; clear, perfect temperature and a very cosy environment.

Am a regular visitor to The Salamander, and went on Friday 19th January for a pub meal and a couple of drinks. The food was excellent as usual, being the toad-in-the-hole with a side order of triple cooked chips. Both cooked to perfection and thoroughly...More

Food was really good and is well worth the visit just for the food. The decoration and feel of upstairs let’s the place down slightly, downstairs looked nicer but we had a table upstairs, just feels like it needs an update upstairs to match the...More

Hey. There are two extract doors and both have a small step, so I wouldn't say it's wheelchair friendly. You can see the front door on google maps which gives you a better idea of space.

Description
The Salamander is great city-centre pub. 'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a well-stocked bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs. Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.
