Dropped in just as the England game was kicking off. It was pretty quiet. Pleasant bar service (the highlight really) and I was allowed a taste of the Bradfield Brown Cow which was not to my taste. I was therefore forced into the only alternative ale, Moonshine. It was, put simply, a pint of Moonshine, not the best, not the... More

Lovely pub, what I would call quaint and traditional. Decor very nice. Excellent 80s music! Landlord very welcoming. Nice range of beers and lagers. Reasonably priced at £14 for 4 drinks. The pub does food but we did not sample any.

Nice and warm pub on a cold winter's night. A pint of Farmer's Blonde well kept and tasty. A better experience than a visit to the well renowned (but now overrated?) Kelham Island Tavern the night before when comparing the quality of what I consider the core product, namely the real ale.

Had a fantastic homemade meat and potato pie lunch, but there were lots of other dishes on offer to choose from, reasonably priced and big portions. This pub is tucked away on a side street but is lovely inside, the host was very welcoming and all the other staff were friendly. Going for lunch again hopefully in the not too... More

went here with friends for a drink . Excellent quality drinks at reasonable prices . What makes this a good place to visit is the staff !! really welcoming and always happy to chat with the customer. It's not a chain pub and for this reason it really does stand out .

This place is tucked away just off the centre of town but still gets the clients. Not a modern pub by any means but it does have great atmosphere, great ales and great company. There's also a well equipped menu that caters for everyone.

This old back-street pub is situated between the railway station and the city centre. If you know where it is, it’s easy enough to find, but otherwise check the map first, and you should have no problems. The striking exterior harks back to the past, but sadly the pub has been modernised internally. I’ve only been in for a mid... More

Very hard to find pub but worth the hunt. City centre but down some side streets. It is what I would class as a proper pub- you could spend several rounds in here with your friends or just start the night in here. Either way, great selection of drinks with a quaint beer garden to the front. A must visit... More

A good old fashion real ale pub. Playing good music but not too loud so conversation was easy. The staff were friendly and the beers were excellent.
