We went for one of the savoury high tea and the sweet high tea. The scones were more like biscuits and were over done. The rest of the items in the savoury high tea were not tasty and the flavours could do with revision. I...More

Took mum here for her birthday lunch. When booking over the phone the girl asked if it was a special occasion so I told her it was mum's birthday. She greeted us with 'happy birthday' which was a lovely touch. We had the set menu...More

I've lived locally for ages and, somehow, never been to this restaurant until recently. Big mistake. Food is excellent, interesting without being absurdly extravagant. Service is attentive without feeling oppressive. Location is perfect. Yes, of course it's not cheap but it's definitely worth it.

Terrible amateurish, over priced dinner, food sent back, awful service, poor cooking, smashed glasses, all very Faulty-esque Oxford is changing and finally the restaurants are getting better but this old chestnut will fall of its branch if things do not improve, even The Ivy Cafe...More

Visited for afternoon tea and what a delicious tea it was. Beautiful setting and attentive staff. I think it is one of the best places I have enjoyed for afternoon tea. And delicious it was too. A must to try.
