Lovely pub right in the town centre with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Food was delicious & generous in portion sizes ! Worth a visit even if like us you drop in on the off chance, on a wet November Monday evening

Lovely pub right in the town centre with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Food looked delicious although we hadn't booked so couldn't get a table. We returned later to watch the rugby which was also a welcome addition. Worth a visit!

A welcoming and friendly pub, with great staff and a good selection of wines and beers. In fact, in the bland desert of Brakespeare, this Greene King oasis is just the trick. I had the venison and pheasant pie and can only give it one word ........ historic. A real pie (not a casserole with a lid), bursting with flavour.... More

We have tried this pub several times over the years, but this is the first time we have tried with our relations as a family. We all seemed to enjoy the food, although some of the meals was a bit overcooked. The relations enjoyed the local ALE as they do not have this in OZ.

A warm welcome by friendly bar staff always a great start. Good choice of wine served cold in nice glass and great pint of bitter. The atmosphere was lively and everyone seemed to be having a good time which made our visit all the better. The sausage baguette I ordered was first class fresh warm bread and lots of good... More

A friend and I went for Sunday lunch. It was extremely busy - every table was full, which was great to see. The service was friendly and professional as always. Despite how busy it was, and not many front of house staff on duty, we didn't have to wait long for our food. It was very tasty and piping hot... More

Had Sunday Lunch here a couple of weeks ago whilst on holiday at a local caravan site. The service was very slow - although we were warned when we ordered and they were very busy. The Roast Beef lunch was very good, but I personally feel a little expensive for what I had, was expecting a larger portion, however it... More

Hello you and your friends turned up at the pub at 10.30pm. There were underage people in your group of 7/8 some of which went to sit in the garden on a freezing cold night? Hmm.. As if I have never seen this old trick before!! You may not be aware but one of the licensing initiatives is to 'protect... More

Kicked us out on entry very aggressively including insulting my friends, saying we looked underage despite having ID which he didn't ask for. Then continued to follow us outside and tell us to leave the town square and then upsetting my 18 friend by calling her 16.
