Just been back to Hart's for probably the sixth time (over several years). It's a fixture whenever we visit Nottingham, it never disappoints. Great, tasty, well-presented food at a reasonable price, I cannot fault it at all. Oh, and the bread is to die for!

Four days ago five of us enjoyed a wonderful meal and had exceptional service. My wife said, “This was the best restaurant meal she has ever had in Great Britain.” She is picky and has high expectations.

I am a very gluten-intolerant coeliac, and because of past experiences I am afraid to eat out. Well, with Hart’s I need not have worried. They were amazingly knowledgable, and kind, too. I sent them a quick email two days before, and they set everything...More

This restaurant is located in the historic centre of Nottingham close to the Castle. It was the site of the old hospital regenerated a good 20-years ago and the fabulous brick building still remain. You can get from the restaurant to the castle through the...More

Warm greeting on arrival sparked the start of what was a really lovely meal out. Great choice of meals options, of which we could mix from a la carte and set menu, nothing was too much trouble. Fresh bread also delicious. I had mackerel to...More

Really encouraging to read this review. Sounds like your full dining experience was perfect, so we are delighted. See you both again soon.

Not being 'locals', we've been to Harts only a couple of times over the past few years but always enjoyed the experience. Our recent visit was no exception- so I was more than a little surprised to see a review written by someone who seems...More

Delighted to read your review and support for Hart's, which is very encouraging. We have fully taken onboard your comment about slow service to start.

It hurts me to have to say this but this restaurant is no longer fine dining. The decor is shabby from the chair legs and flooring, even the glasswear is different. It was tall heavy crystal champagne glasses. It was special and my favourite restaurant....More

Hart's never misses a beat and this dish was another example - monkfish in a Thai broth with pickled red onion and mushrooms. Subtle flavour combinations, meaty monk fish, artfully presented. Dined alfresco in the courtyard garden with a glass of house white as twilight...More

Disappointed overall. 3 very uninspiring sandwiches in ordinary sliced bread - quite tasteless. I have been to many other places where the choice quality and price beats Hart's hands down. Wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't go back.

Disappointed to read your review, especially when we use award-winning Hambleton Bakery breads for our sandwiches.

I think it’s a tad unfair to have Hart’s classified as ££££ when in reality it offers super value for money and with regards to Nottingham, is the best value for money high end eating experience the city has to offer. Hart’s never gets lost...More

Description
Hart’s restaurant in Nottingham ticks every golden box you’d want for the ideal restaurant and it all adds up to a prize-winning Number One. Pedigree is good: Hart’s is brought to you by the wonderful Hambleton Hall team. Location is right, just five minutes off Market Square. Décor? Great. Modern, comfortable, sophisticated in neutral tones with softly coloured arty details. Service? Consistently award-winning. Food? Now you’re really talking. The modern British menu is thoroughly seasonal with dishes like starter of sardine fillets wrapped in bacon with balsamic dressing, main course of free-range chicken breast with potato galette, girolles and tarragon sauce, and dessert of vanilla crème brulee with marinated strawberries. The ambience is right for business or romance or the simple enjoyment of a great meal out. Can’t leave? Hart’s lovely hotel is twenty metres away.
