Tuesday. 1pm. Surprisingly busy. Turned up on spec. Love the decor, which certainly feels French café and loads to look at while dining alone. I asked if I could get lunch within an hour: no problem. I was shown the very reasonable price lunch menu....More

A group of us visited here on Saturday night we found the restaurant understaffed with rude employees who were running around like headless chickens. We ate a selection of starters all of these were poor quality plates of food after waiting for 1 and a...More

Trying to find somewhere to eat on what must have been the busiest night in Nottingham, perhaps ever, we stumbled across this little restaurant hidden by scaffolding. We popped in to ask if there was any chance of a table fully expecting to be rejected...More

This little restaurant is so lovely. We had lunch there yesterday and it is just perfect. Don’t be put off by the scaffolding, inside it is business as usual and once in you don’t even notice the outside! The food is excellent with seasonal menus...More

We have been there a lot of times. It is our favourite place when we want to eat good French food. Onglet À L’echalote is a dish that you should definitely taste as well as their crème brûlée as a dessert. The portions are also...More

Dined as a couple early on a Saturday evening and arrived in time (5pm - 6.30pm) to enjoy the 2 course pre-theatre menu. All of the dishes are home made with fresh ingredients and we both thought the food was excellent. For starters we choose...More

We go every few months to the regional night. The different foods served are very varied from a fishy supper with superbly light flavours to complement the fish, to big hearty slow cooked meat on another visit! Always a good bit of cheese too and...More

A family owned brasserie in a French provincial town...Nottingham! Since 1994, this delicious Gallic haven, presided by charismatic Corsican Stephane Luiggi, has created a tiny piece of France in the centre of Nottingham. Today it's a thriving, bustling restaurant on two floors, with a ground floor dining area for up to 40 customers boasting a unique Deli Corner, offering farmhouse unpasteurised cheese, wines from small growers, French grocery essentials, as well as some rare brocante finds. A large red-bricked basement room, for up to 44 diners, is reminiscent of Toulousain restaurants, La Ville Rose, where Stephane met his Nottingham-born wife Louise. The dishes and menus are typical of a French bistro; simple, classic recipes, all home-made from fresh ingredients. Stephane and Louise aim to serve meals that make the French feel at home, and the British remember their holidays. Authenticity, combined with a desire to share French culture, to pass on knowledge, from translations to the hidden gems of Corsica, makes French Living a truely unique, warm and memorable experience.
