The one thing we were really looking forward to in whitby was a goid old fish n chips. How disappointed were we!!! Soggy uncooked fish, chips mediocre. All in all very disappointing and waste of money. Spend your money elsewhere.

If you want quality Fish and Chips, or other options ie the excellent Fish Pie, you can find no better in Whitby than Trenchers Kitchen staff very well presented says so much. Restaurant staff lovely happy and great personalities, special mention to Ann.

I rarely visit Whitby, maybe once every 5 years and on my recent visit was sad to hear the Magpie wasn't open. The Tourist Information recommended Trenchers and loved it. i preferred it to the Magpie and will return.

Visited quite a few times over the years and the fish and chips are still excellent. Service is friendly and the tables clean. It's a bit expensive but we'll worth it. Well recommended.

I can't be sure. But I seem to think there is an option for gluten free. The restaurant itself pays a great deal of attention to the needs of customers. So if any fish and chip shop had a gluten free option, I would... More
