We stumbled across this pub and restaurant while out with all the family and so glad we did, as we did not have a reservation they quickly let us wait at the bar until we could be seated. Usually when we are in Whitby we have the traditional fish and chips but fancied a change. The Food was really good... More

Popped in for a drink with our 7 year old. We were directed to an upstairs lounge. Had a lovely time playing the board games provided. A fantastic old quirky building. We'd definitely come back.

We decided to eat here on last evening of our three week holiday in our favourite Whitby 😊 Everyone all jammed in like sardines Which made it rather uncomfortable not only in body but mind too !!😟 We ordered well done steaks that were served up rare and bloody so sent them back!! Eventually turned out to be lovely food... More

Had a few excellent gin drinks in here on a night over in Whitby. It's the first time I've been in here and I loved it. The variety of gin cocktails is amazing and the ones we tried were delicious! Very small front room but with a lovely atmosphere with great, chilled music playing in the background. I walked through... More

We visited the White Horse and Griffin on our recent trip to Whitby to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had seen the restaurant on previous trips to Whitby but had never visited before, we have been missing a treat all this time! The property is an old coaching inn and retains the atmosphere and decor of bygone times whilst providing... More

Popped in for early lunch having seen A board outside. Both went for the seafood platter-great choice!. Oyster, crayfish tails, tempura battered prawns, fish goujons & mussels in cream & white wine. Came with skinny fries. Despite our best efforts we were unable to completely finish it. Accompanied by Timothy Taylor's Landlord & glasses of passable SB for Mrs D... More

Popped in for a quick pint and to look at the interior of the building. Well worth a drink and the menu and restaurant looked pretty good to.

Although we weren't very impressed by our overnight stay, the dining room was awesome. It felt comfortable and old, in the good way. This was my husband's favorite meal of our entire trip. I tried pheasant for the first time, and it was pretty good. I wouldn't stay the night here again, but it's a great place to have dinner.
