Unfortunately for us we'd eaten lunch earlier and only wanted a dessert as the pies looked and smelled delicious. We had sticky toffee pudding and jam roly poly both with custard and served in a white enamel bowl. The bowls matched the quaint old building decorated throughout in war time memorable gas mask and case, soldiers hard hat, stove on... More

Fourth visit, and never disappointed, the pies are incredibly tasty , a wide variety too suit everyone, as a vegetarian its lovely to have a choice ! although the Hommity is a definite favourite. Good quality and good value , can't wait till next time.

Imagine stepping back in time to your great granny's house and this is what you get. Old fashioned furniture and fittings, it certainly takes you back to childhood (although was many years after the war when I was born) The staff are friendly and service is quick. Ordered the Vegetarian Hommity pie which came with mash and mushy peas, absolutely... More

Have been twice before and look forward to my third visit at the end of July. I like the banter that Dave responds to all the poor and terrible reviews. Dave do you know that the percentage for those two categories is 0.016%. For such a small place as yours I think you do a great job and wish you... More

The pie shop here is excellent, a set price of 6:99. For pie, peas mash and tasty gravy. Reductions for no mash etc. We had three different pies, each excellent, good pastry, well filled with good fillings. The gravy was excellent, the peas ok the mash tasted good but mine was a bit lumpy, the other were ok. Well behaved... More

A good choice of pies served with mash and peas with or without gravy on a tin plate for £6.99. You could have tea or coffee (no decaf) or if you fancy a beer with your pie pop across the road to the pub and fetch one. Basic but interesting place - think wooden chairs and a rickety table, but... More

This simple concept is perfect; a tin plateful of creamy mashed potato, peas, hot gravy and a pie for £6.99 cannot be bettered. A good choice of several different meat or veggie pies, old-fashioned soft drinks,( or bring a pint from The Endeavour pub over the road) and I doubt that you'll leave here hungry or unhappy. The staff are... More

My husband ordered a steak pie, the pastry was cooked perfectly. The pie was packed with steak that was very tender. The gravy was piping hot as was the mushy peas and mash that was beautiful, not messed with just good old fashioned wholesome food. The staff were exceptional and so was the food. All washed down with a piping... More

Description
We are a small unlicensed eatery, serving just pie mash peas and gravy. We welcome dogs and their owners but have a dog free area upstairs. We don't have any Alcohol, but you are more than welcome to bring your own or pop over the road to the Endeavour pub who will let you bring a nice cold pint back to your food.If we do something wrong or make a mistake, please let us know or contact me through the messaging service and i will put it right.I believe you should be able to have a filling quality meal for a decent price.
