Prompt service, but the Tuesday night special offer wasn't clearly explained and made us feel we had been misled. No printed details of the offer were offered with the menu we had to ask. Once I ask as third time about the offer the staff seemed offish, and even took away our un-eaten poppadoms. Food was nice, service prompt, if... More

On the eve of our daughter's trip to Nepal we thought we should pay a return visit to Roti, which is the nearest thing we could get to a Nepalese experience within easy walking distance of our part of Norwich. Having sat down, I looked up at the wall to see a photo of a beaming Jeremy Corbyn staring back... More

It's been a year since we last visited but we're tempted to give the Roti another try when our son visited Norwich, enticed by the £12.95 offer. It didn't disappoint. Lovely food, great service and excellent value. We were surprised that there were only two tables dining but it did not make a jot of difference. Perhaps diners were scared... More

I like this place and have been several times over the years. The place is clean and the service good. The food lacked any finesse and the sauce was sloppy on my Madras. One of the others had a Biriyani which was pretty poor. Like many ethnic restaurants i wish they would perhaps charge a bit more but serve better... More

So many Indian restaurant's available but this one stands out as different. The food is very good with all the sauces tasting different rather than an Indian base sauce. The choice is very good with options from different regions of Indian not seen on most menu's. The service was good and we had a lovely evening celebrating a 14th birthday.... More

I went there with a group of friends (about 12) one Thursday evening in March. Straightaway I knew the service would be great, having been there in June last year. I myself had poppadoms, a very good starter (can't remember what they are called), a chicken tikka bhuna, with special fried rice and a couple of drinks. I did ask... More

We really enjoyed our meal tonight! We haven't been for some years but we were still greeted as old friends. Delicious food! The lemon rice was wonderful as was the prawn kashmir curry. Mushrooms, tarka Dahl, all first class. Warm moist towels. Coffee and a little chocolate too. They think of everything.... We were made to feel very special! Thank... More

Used Roti for the first (and last) time this evening. The Duck tasted bitter, the pasanda sauce was far too sweet and could have been any flavour with a little dash of colouring. 34 quid could have been better spent having our taste buds hammered to the pavement. My wife had the lamb Dhaniya. The meat, 5 pieces, were like... More

We hadn't visited the Roti for a while and decided to go out for a meal and try it again. We had a fantastic meal, quite reasonably priced and with good service. I enjoyed it so much recommended it to friends and we went out as a group the following week. Again the food was good and no one had... More

We have been to Roti before and was very pleased with the service, food and pricing. That was all in the past. Wind the clock forward and it's the complete reverse. We ordered drinks shame they couldn't get it right. Ordering the food was not slick, far from it. The starters came fairly quickly but then the ridiculous wait for... More

Description
Old meets new at Norwichs Roti, a sublime Indian restaurant situated just five minutes from the city centre. Great care has gone in to the creation of the Roti dining room, at one time a traditional pub but now a clean, sleek space in which modern comfort is as central to the design as the look, intended to bring to mind the old gentlemens clubs of the Empire era. Booking is essential as Roti tends to get very busy, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings when locals flock for food before letting their hair down in the bars and clubs in town. Its easy to see why this place is so popular, not only is the service friendly but Rotis food is superb, earning plentiful good reviews from internet reviewers and five stars from the Norwich Evening News. Banned from using artificial additives, the kitchen relies only on natural ingredients, some imported from India for authenticity, to produce flavoursome and authentic Bangladeshi and Indian dishes.
