About
Welcome to Taste of Malabar, a very Authentic, Exotic and genuinely family run South Indian restaurant in Norwich. Antony and Lizy, the owners have always had a passion for traditional South Indian cuisine, having both grown up in Kerala where the history of ancient ayurvedic therapy, health and traditional recipes began. Our menu is a celebration of the fine range of flavours and dishes famous to the region. All of our dishes are made from scratch using the freshest, highest quality ingredients. We not use ready made spice mix or pre made pastes like many Indian restaurants and this is something we are very proud of. We are also proud to cater for vegetarians, vegans, those who need to eat

Food was overall okay but service was incredibly slow. We were the only ones in the restaurant (table of 2) and food took over an hour. Not sure how the resturant would manage if they had more covers or takeaway orders coming in. Once food...did arrive, nothing came together and arrived all at different times. We ordered everything vegan but dips arrived which had dairy in them. Toilets were also very dirty and the place looked tired. Wouldn't be revisiting.More

Well, Its definitely under new management. We waited around an hour for our starters to arrive and they came at different times. We waited a further 1 and half hours for the mains to arrive and mine and my daughters never actually did! At that...point we gave up along with the other 2 families in the restaurant. That's all there was! 3 small families and we were all disappointed. It seems they were more interested in serving the Deliver Roo drivers than us. The Music turned from an ambient Indian music to full on 80's tech-rock along with the answer machine beeping in the background. The toilets were unclean. They did kindly give me the remainder of my meal as a take away and said no charge. Unfortunately, they only put my daughters dhal, rice and rock hard parathas. All unedible by the time we got home.More

Delicious food delivered very quickly via JustEat. Everything was very flavourful and the many gluten free options made me very happy.

My Dad and I have spent the last year visiting different curry houses across Norwich and beyond, as a way of trying out new places. We have visited a lot of places and I can honestly say this is up there with the best. When...the food arrived we knew we were in for a treat, as it smelt so good. The lamb pepper masala and cauliflower bhaji were a particular highlight. I always think you can judge a curry house by the simple onion bhaji and these were among the best. Light, non-greasy and packed with flavour. The staff were also very friendly and will definitely be back here again.More

We loved the meal we had a couple of years ago so made a beeline to Taste of Malabar on our first trip away from home for almost two years. South Indian cuisine is so good for vegetarians, we went specially for the dhosas which...were wonderful and enormous! Our starters fabulous too. Two elderly gentlemen arrived while we were eating. They're obviously very regular and discerning customers from their conversation with our very congenial host!More

Dropped into here on the way back to station and having read some previous trip advisor reviews. Whilst the venue could be better, but is clean and simple this is far outweighed but the taste and quality of food which is just far better than...your average tandoori restaurant. Prices seem to be on par with the average bit food was just fantastic.More

Ordered in on a Saturday at 4pm for it to arrive at 7pm. Waited in all eve for our order as stated would arrive at 19.05. At the time it should have arrived received a text that it had been cancelled and would not be...arriving at all as they were closed . Having waited in all eve for our order we were most disappointed to receive this message that 3 hours after ordering and paying our dinner would not be arriving at all.such a shame and will not order from again.More

Food was freshly made with good flavours, really tasty southern Indian food. We are vegans and there was a great choice, also reasonably priced. Would recommend this as an excellent place to go.
