We have eaten here loads of times but not impressed with the quality of food or service in my last visit. We had 'sabzi polo with kookoo and fish'. The kookoo which should be made with fresh herbs was tasteless and bland and made with dry herbs. Fish wasn't cooked properly and very disappointing. Someone should tell the waiting staff... More

Lucky to have such a nice restaurant in the neighborhood, and great that all of the Olympia Expo goers haven't heard too much about this place, or you'd never be able to get a seat. There's no alcohol, but that is made up for with simply magnificent food. Really authentic meals. Lots of different flavors. The pan is amazing. We... More

Food was really take us to the centre of Iran with the warm Iranian bread and the variety of kebab and kofta plus the Tabrizi salad. We were satisfied.

As you walk in through the door you feel the warmth of the tandoor used primarily for baking Lebanese bread which is served freshly baked. 80% of the diners are middle-eastern and the restaurant is usually full by 7:30pm, with people queuing at the door (there's no reservations). The main courses are primarily chicken or lamb, cooked in a variety... More

Alounak has been our must go to Persian in London for many years. We love the housemade bread, made on the spot, which goes perfect with their delicious hummus. A nice place for the whole family! The service is also very friendly, and although no alcoholic beverages are sold, you are welcome to bringing your own.

Just returned from a great meal at Alounak Westbourne Grove. Good seating at the back of the restaurant by the aquarium. Delicious food and big portions with excellent and pleasant service. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant but can get very busy for a small place

I'm new to Persian food, so Alounak was my introduction and I am glad I was able to experience it here. As we do in most middle eastern/ Mediterranean/ Mezze places we ordered the mixed starters (which are all dips) accompanied with their flatbread (so thin but spans out a lot) very tasty I preferred the hummus more so than... I met with a friend here for dinner who recommended this as one of his favourite restaurants. It isn’t very big so booking ahead in advance is recommend, but it does have a nice cosy intimate setup. I went for the adanaa kebab which was served with rice, and was delicious. It was full of flavour, the right size and... More

Best Persian food in London. Grate Kababs and wonderful salads. Very reasonably priced with top notch service. A must stop for rice lovers!

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
