Great place to meet up with friends. You can chill on the rooftop bar before going in to dinner. We had the set menu - excellent food.

This was a special occasion with family and the restaurant did not disappoint. We all selected the 3 course menu option. Beautifully cooked and presented meals. So good to be waited on by properly trained and attentive wait staff - thank you and congratulations! Extensive international wine list with some hidden gems as well as cream of the crop. A... More

Amazing food and venue, the snails were to die for and I recommend trying them. The wine list was ok and the bottle we ordered was inoffensive. The staff could smile more though they seemed nice enough.

Sometimes I find you can get learn a lot about how good a restaurant is by sampling their set menu. My lunch at Le Coq D'Agent showcased some excellent cookery, well presented and tasty and surprisingly good value for money given the location. Starter was a generous slice of cured salmon, with a large melba toast and served with a... More

Ok for business. Not because the food is that good or good value but as it's a recognised place to take clients. If however you go there for a social evening expect to be surrounded by Essex boys. Being called mate and Geezer all night is not my cup of tea

This is such a nice relaxed bar. We stayed outside as the atmosphere was so relaxed and luckily it was dry and warm out. The seating area has heat lamps incase it gets cold. The service was quick and staff were polite. Nice to walk around specially the open area where you can see all the high rise building lit... More

Poulrty is one of the busiest areas in the City, but Le Coq d'Argent is a quiet restaurant on top of a commercial building. The food is great and the staff is very nice and helpful. If you are looking for typical French snails or less "exotic" French food... that's the place.

I had lunch here today with a client and we both enjoyed the service and setting very much. The food tasted good and gets marked down one mark because of there being too much salt in a veg dish I ordered. To be honest if they allowed 1/2 marks I would have given it 4.5. If you want some where... More

Enjoyed Saturday brunch at the centre of the City. Professional and friendly staff. Food was better than average. Little space between tables for 2 people.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend for my birthday. The place is a typical venue for business meetings and posh after-work drinks. Strategically positioned between Bank and St Paul, it attracts financial analysts and legal consultants looking for posh entertainment and good food and drinks. The restaurant is on the roof of a tall building from which you... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
