I really liked this restaurant when I first came here a year ago. But this time, I had food poisoning after having had laksa, stomach upset, abdominal pain, headache during 2 days. My friend ordered Japanese chicken rice, the chicken was deep fried, and the taste of reused oil was very strong. Will never come back again.

Nice exception from all these "typically asian decorated" restaurants in Soho, C&R serves tasty, spicy food. The service is quick and there are a lot of "locals" eating at C&R, which is for sure a good sign.

Brilliant - what else to say? Great food, reasonable prices for 5 minutes from Leicester Square. As authentic as Jalan Alor in Kuala Lumpur. Staff are lovely. Go, seriously go there it's great. Second thoughts don't keep it as a hidden gem, forget I ever mentioned it, there is a Pizza Express down the street they're alright go there.

A restaurant hidden in a narrow side street just off china town. I had heard of there famous Singapore laksa. We were well greeted and served fast. The laksa was huge !!! It was a delight and I have been impatient to return. Best laksa in London ! By a mile. The restaurant is clean and the staff can be... More

The street food of Penang is evident here with fabulous Char Kai Chow , the only component missing was the oysters used in Penang. Simple, value for money, delicious.

Visited C&R today, second time in the last few months. Last visit, the food was below expectation and service poor. I put this down to big unlucky. Today, ordered Nasi lemak. Standard order in a Malaysian place, after 30 mins there was still no sign of it. Asked the wait staff 3 times if there might have been a mistake,... More

We had a pre-theatre early dinner of Char Koay Teow, Singapore Curry Laksa and Pad Thai with a Gado-gado side. First two were as good as you would get in Malaysia. Pad Thai was tasty. Gado-gado was served hot but could have come on a larger plate and with more peanut sauce dressing. Very generous portions and we had to... More

I came to C&R for dinner with friends and was pleasantly surprised to discover surprisingly big portions (similar to Old Town 97). It gets crowded around dinner time, and for good reason, but seating space isn't as cramped as other Chinatown eateries. Food was served promptly and service was efficient. I had the Hokkien mee (£8.50). It was fried Malaysian... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
