I was really looking forward to going here after reading the reviews, but it was a complete disappointment. I ordered the lamb, which was supposed to come with "Tomatoes, Aubergines, Herbs and Sun-dried Limes", but instead came with a weird sauce, mash potatoes and (probably)...More

We were accommodated without a booking and made to feel very welcome. Good choice of menu and wines, excellent friendly service. Portion sizes were more than adequate and the food warmed us up on a freezing night (terrine, lamb shank, beef bourguignon). Would definitely return!

Decided to try this bistro since it was quite close to our show. Menu was quite varied but certainly satisfied our palates. We dined upstairs, but can see that downstairs was likely less atmospheric. Staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend and being very close to...More

We headed here after spending an afternoon at the museum. We were slightly early for our booking, but were seated immediately, while waiting for our friend to arrive. Service was lovely. They only had 2 meal menus, but since we were hungry, they allowed us...More

If visiting or staying near the British Museum, you should consider having a dinner at Le Bistro Savior Faire. The meals were very good, and for a Fixed Prix we each enjoyed a very tasty meal. The space, on the other hand was candidly sub-par....More

The Savoir Faire mini-chain collapsed years ago, and this one in Bloomsbury, perfect for Theatreland and the British Museum, was taken on privately by Irene and her husband who still run it. I'm a total devotee, and since leaving London in 2008, make a point...More

It's a family run business not a chain. Much nicer than a chain. I don't like chains. If you like good French food then your like this place. They do set menus where you get to courses at lunch for £21.50 or dinner 2 courses...More

We went post theatre which is rarely a good idea in London and this place was no exception. Cold unseasoned pumpkin soup arrived quickly. Cold garlic soup was more tasty. Mains of chick pea flat bread was tasty but dry and pork belly was reasonable....More

Inner London’s busiest streets crisscross quiet
cobbled lanes for an effect that can be urbane or
quaint – or an intriguing blend of both – depending on
the particular corner you turn. Due to its especially
convenient location, bustling Holborn hosts an
excellent range of hotels, eateries, and shops to suit

Yes, there were no steps however it is small, I'm sure the tables by the window and the alcove near the entrance would be fine.

They were really helpful when i rang to ask what time we should book for, and very flexible. 5.30 sounds good - but mention it to them so they know.

Three courses might be a rush in 90 minutes but they offer pre-theatre menus.

Savoire Fair - rarely has a restaurant been so perfectly named. Fresh food, good wine, mellow atmosphere, satisfied staff, value for money - this traditional French bistro knows how to please and over the past nine years it's perfected the art. The mouthwatering menu reads like that of any major London restaurant - rib eye steak served on a fromage frais pancake with a brandy and mushroom sauce, for example - apart from the prices. Although the menu changes every fortnight, the big sellers such as the traditional French bourguignon and tarte tatin are faithfully there for the savouring, much to the satisfaction of the regulars, many of them celebrities and actors from the local shows and plays. Every dish is freshly prepared on the premises daily. "If we can't cook it, we don't have it," declares the owner, Max. There's only one thing for it; cancel The Ivy and try a little Savoir Faire.
