We asked about a two course lunch deal and were given menus displaying the deal, from which we ordered a starter and a main each. No code was mentioned by the waitress or on the menu. We ate in noisy surroundings as the chef and waitresses stressed at one another. We got up and searched for our own chilli oil,... More

I am a considerable fan of PizzaExpress as a rule with its reliable food and generally good service and have had many pleasant dinners at this branch which was one of the first to be established in London and is in a former dairy. This makes it all the more disappointing that I can only give it two stars on... More

We arrive there early evening, not really busy but short of staff it seemed, good things were the pizzas and the fact that they moved us by the window when a table was available. Down points : we had to get the staff attention for drinks and a short while later again for food order. Then the bill manage to... More

Typical pizza express food but located in a nice historic building. We had tesco vouchers and had booked in advance which is recommended as it was very busy on a Saturday night. Tables are packed in but its nice atmosphere. Staff and service very good. We tried the calamari starter which was excellent and pizzas, served quickly and hot. No... More

I am a big fan of Pizza Express, I've visited many over the years, it was arguably part of my staple diet as a teenager! I even worked at one for a bit one summer so I know the drill re customer service etc and I have a very good idea of what to expect from their food. We popped... More

One of the first of the now popular chain to open to the public, it occupies what was once a centre for milk distribution to the city of London. Milk would arrive from the countryside on trains, then be transported to this location by carriages and then redistributed for home delivery. The original tiles were maintained as well as some... Of all the Pizza Express's in London, this one is somewhat hidden away even thought it's round the corner from the British Museum. I've eaten here on a Saturday afternoon with my friend Jane, who is a weekly regular, for about a year now - the staff are always so friendly and good fun without being over bearing. The food... We were looking for somewhere to eat and found this Pizza Express. We had the three course set menu. The food was served promptly and it was all good. There was a nice atmosphere and the staff were helpful. I thought over £5 was a lot for two bottles of coke, but London prices I suppose. We would visit again... More

As an architect I love the atmosphere of this former dairy which has preserved many of its former features. It's also a very convenient place to eat after a an enjoyable visit to the (almost adjacent) Cartoon Museum or British Museum (with my grandchildren). You will probably still be smiling from the cartoons as you enter for a pasta or... More

Use this chain when away on business as I have the app to claim offer codes. Had to ask for table water twice and a side dish was not received until the mains were finished. We weren't charged for this but would've liked with the main. Risotto was nice. Don't think I would visit this branch again. Tables are very... More

Description
Situated two minutes from the British Museum in Coptic Street the restaurant is a popular place for both families and tourists. Close to the heart of theatre land in the West End of Central London, the restaurant was established in 1967 and was the second PizzaExpress to open. The tiles on the walls are the original to the dairy and many of its features date back to 1967, which gives this restaurant a unique identity.

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
