Lying just outside the Chinatown area, this place had a warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff invited us in and we had some jasmine tea. The food we ordered -- a pork dish and noodles -- was excellent. The service friendly. Definitely a nice spot when in Piccadilly Circus.

Recommendations for this restaurant are high so it was eagerly anticipated after a drink at the ever excellent Bar Termini - for all the loud noise about it the restaurant did not come up to the press. The signature dish no doubt is authentic but difficult to eat - the dumplings luke warm and the first time in Chinatown or... More

OK - this isn't your local Chinese. You either get Szechwan or you don't. This is full on. And riotously expensive. Thankfully there are enough foreign visitors, not least from Far East to pack the place out - book or be disappointed. If like the Eductor family you are hardly experts, arrive a prepare to experiment - if you go... More

Been to Barshu a few times now and never been disappointed. Whilst it can be quite pricey the food is always excellent, the service is good and the staff very friendly. I've trued various dishes with either pork, beef, dumplings and all are good. Also tried a few of the very spicy dishes and whilst they did have an affect... More

This was a chance encounter but the experience was dynamite!! A somewhat small and confined fine dining restaurant but the food menu leaves one lost for choice. We chose the braised beef sticks ...which were super tasty , followed by a glass vermicelli dish called " ants climbing a tree" and oxtail radish soup which had a nice pungent taste... More

I have been with some friends tonight. The food was totally tasteless. We mentioned that to the manager, she basically did not care. When we mentioned the food was disgusting she just said "Thank you". Apart from the horrible food experience, everything was super pricey: we ended up paying more than £50 each for a really light dinner.

Visited for a family birthday lunch - we ordered lots of small dishes: pork, chicken, beef, dumplings, rice, noodles. Having traveled across China, Sichuan is our favourite region for food. We didn't go for the burningly hot chillie choices, just the warm the back of your throat delicious dishes. The service was friendly and the small restaurant had lots of... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
