I had high expectations when I saw Marco Pierre White had his name associated with this hotel restaurant. I was expecting an exciting menu and a wonderful dining experience with my taste buds getting tantalised. As a foodie I love a wide range of food but I was really struggling having read the menu to get excited about any of... More

We were just looking at the menu after we had been in the Tate & ended up staying for food, service was great & the staff helpful. It was so nice to eat something so tasty and not over priced.

There are limited choices, but the food is well cooked. The items are available for room service, some are available 24/7. The menu would be enhanced by selection of sandwiches. The only sandwich is a club which is served with chips orbcrisps. It was very good, but huge!

The menu at The Loft was limited, but the hotel is installing a new service fronted by Marco Pierre White, so hopefully that will improve. Service was great and we enjoyed our meals. The restaurant was quiet so we were able to chat with our guests.

This restaurant is attached to mercure London bridge where we are staying. The food is absolutely delicious. I had the best Thai red curry ever. The flavours amazing. Significant other had marinara also sensational he informs me. We then shared sticky date - to die for. The food here is really some of the best around. Some nice wines to... More

This is a nicer place than it appears at first from the outside. Polite service and nice food. Thanks to the waiter for advice on wine choice. I ate here although I was a non-resident.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
