Took my husband and daughter there to celebrate his 70th birthday. My husband is a big seafood fan so was really looking forward to the meal. Staff were very attentive although the champagne I pre-ordered did not get to the table for a while after we arrived. Food was very average. Bill was close to £300 including wine which I... More

Have walked past this restaurant for years, however this time being in Leadenhall Market with my wife on an afternoon off went in... Wow! we thoroughly enjoyed! Had Mussels, and Calamari for starter, (Calamari was to die for and the portion, for a starter, massive) Mixed Grill and Dover Sole for mains, (Tough to choose a favorite here, my Dover... More

Thank goodness they're open again after the flood! A brand new kitchen and a menu with old favourites and lots of new things to try. Difficult to tear ourselves away from the old favourites though. Dressed Crab and the most amazing Scallops with Pernod tonight. From experience it can be pretty busy at lunchtime so with friends and family we... More

We stepped in for a few drinks and were not disappointed. Wide selection of the usual poison ranging from beers, cider and harder liquor. Friend had a fish&chips dish and it tasted good too ;-)

The two of us had a really delicious lunch here. The front of house service is excellent and the decor and ambience, beautiful. We were seated upstairs which arguably is better than downstairs, just because of the decor. Our waiter, though very smart and polite, had a poor grasp of the menu and regrettably, English. We ordered a starter each... More

We had lunch there today and the heating wasn't working upstairs. We literally were freezing, but they didn't think to pre warn us or even move us downstairs in the warmth . When asked when it was being fixed they replied sometime this week. Useless, Shame because the food is good

A client and I visited mid December and were treated to a great culinary experience. The restaurant is really well laid out and it doesn't seem like any table is too close together. It is a joy to be able to look out onto Leadenhall market at this time of year. Soft shell crab for starter and a lemon sole... More

The personal attention and service was of the highest quality with food to match. From the moment we arrived, party of two, attentive service. Food was delicious. Excellent white wine from the lower end of the price spectrum in the wine list (Verdejo). I had, as starter, fried squid with a delicious chilli mayonnaise. For main I had the skate... More

I ate here with two friends, all world travellers and quite used to fine dining. We each found our favourites. Colchester oysters were amazing. Mixed fish grill and the fish pie were also highly appreciated. Wine list was reasonably priced and we all ate and drank for £36 a head. I would eat here again. Leadenhall market was beginning to... Chamberlain's Restaurant in historic Leadenhall Market has been described as 'perfect fish in the heart of the city'. With our own wholesale fish business Chamberlain and Thelwell, established at Billingsgate in 1947 to supply the best restaurants and hotels in London. Today we serve top quality fish to a number of loyal clients. The restaurant extends over three floors that look out onto the stunning Leadenhall Market with a ground floor restaurant, intimate mezzanine, slightly more formal first floor restaurant, brasserie and basement bar with its original brickwork, high vaulted ceilings and an outside terrace which in warm weather is one of London's favourite places. Chamberlain's is available for private hire and offer complete flexibility- from relaxed intimate dining, formal luncheons, presentations or lively parties with music. The unique layout of the restaurant means we can cater for a small private party of 12 on their own floor to a party of 150 using the whole restaurant.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
