Really good food, well presented - a little pricey so not for everyday but worth it for a nice treat

Having attempted some brownies from The Cookbook (by Ottolenghi), I wanted to stop by and get something to take away for lunch. The assistant filled a small container with a mixture that consisted of Basmati and wild rice with chickpeas, currants, crispy onion, lemon, and herbs. I also got a hazelnut and chocolate brownie. The food (as expected) was superb.... More

Amazing looking food. Decided to go for breakfast and tried the croissant (very good for London - fresh, crispy, buttery) before the cooked dish (whose name I have forgotten) from Africa, which consists of tomatoes, peppers, onions and 2 eggs - delicious! The reason I am giving only 4 stars is because the fresh orange juice came out of a... More

Definitely recommended, although probably easier to attempt on your own, or just a couple of people if you want to eat in. There's a small communal table in the back that had the most lovely people sitting there.

My companion is an internationally known chef herself and we both agreed Yotam Ottolenghi is a true master of his art. Not one single dish jars the palate, every one of his complex and imaginative blends of ingredients refreshes and stimulates your tongue, and sits very lightly in your tum! A delight. You can't book at Ottolenghi's Notting Hill venue,... More

On a recent trip to London, I finally made it here on a misty and cold morning in London right when they opened at 8 am. The display of cakes, salads, cookies, tarts, is truly beautiful. Just as I expected! Friendly service, the back table seats 8 and is small, but if you are lucky to grab a seat it's... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
