The food here is even better than his many cookbooks lead you to expect. We had dinner one night-great variety and perfect for sharing so as to sample the variety of Mediterreanean, Israeli and Arabic/Palestinean inspired dishes. So good we came back for breakfast-also good, and bought fabulous sandwiches to eat on the Eurostar and of course a couple of... More

I have been twice and both times I was amazed by this restaurant. You simply eat things that you could not think of and that you could not find elsewhere. I mean, there is nothing strange in the ingredients -- but it is just amazing how 'normal' ingredients are combined making a delicious unconventional meal. I would personally recommend to... More

A restaurant worthy of a special get together. After flying into to London from Sydney I took our family of four for a meal after hearing about the reputation of this restaurant. It lived up to its name in every sense. Food, service and quality was top notch and for GBP 125 (including wine) very reasonable for such a pleasant... More

We hadn't been to Ottolenghi's for some time but my wife is a fan of his books and we called in for lunch. She had the salmon and I had the beef & veg pasty, and we each had 3 of their amazing and very fresh salad accompaniments. Probably more food than we needed: 2 salads each would have been... More

Friday lunch, 2pm. The lunch menu is apparently different from the dinner one, so we could choose from the great variety of salads and mains. As we were four we ordered everything (the four mains and almost every salad). A triumph of mediterranean vegetables and spices is beautifully composed around your choice of polenta, beef, salmon or chicken by the... More

My husband and I ate here for my birthday on a Friday night at 9pm. We were seated at an individual table rather than the communal ones which I was quite pleased about. All the staff were lovely and helpful. The menu is split into small plates from either the cold choices which are on the deli counter area when... More

The food here is simply wonderful, the salads being a particular delight. We ate on a day when the place was almost overrun by local yummy-mummies with babies in tow; it affects the atmosphere, to be honest (endless passing around of the babes and the odd grizzle) - the seating is such that one is lucky to escape their clutches.... I took important colleagues out for dinner here last week and we are all still raving about it. The food is excellent; delicious, beautifully presented, filling, and the service is good. We needed to add a fifth person to our reservation at the last minute and that wasn't a problem and worked beautifully. There is a lovely feel in the... More

OK, so you will probably have to queue to get a table, but it allows you to build up a hunger looking at the food. the quiche is superb and the salads (who would think I'd sat such a thing) are very subtly flavoured with things you might not ever think to put together. You walk out of the place... More

Stopped in for an early lunch on a Tuesday at the original Ottolenghi on Upper Street. We were seated immediately at a communal table. Shared the 4 vegetarian salad sampler and 2 pastries. Everything was packed with flavour. OK so it's not cheap, but it's a fantastic splurge.
