Even if we are only in London for the day, we never miss a visit to The Wolseley, whatever time of day we visit. A tiny disappointment this visit were the chewy snails. Much better the last time we visited.

Visited The Wolseley yesterday for the first time, wasn't disappointed at all! Absolutely loved the decor, the ambience, the service was impeccable and very friendly - not stuffy or pretentious in the slightest. We chose fresh Atlantic prawns to start, followed by the Moules Mariniere, Lemon Sole St Germain, Smoked Haddock Montr Carlo and the Wolseley Hamburger. All were delicious... More

Wanting to grab something nice for late breakfast/early lunch, decided on the Wolseley from a quick search online. Said to be one of the best places for Eggs Benedict so booked an 11.30am table, easy process online. Building and interior is very impressive, and our table towards the back was very nice, away from entrance and main though fare through... More

Always consistent, food is "average +" but the whole package is reliable. Good for private lunches and dinners, business as well as coffee (you can almost always get a seat quickly in the unreserved section at the front of the restaurant). Mussels are good, as are the various Goulash type middle european dishes.

You probably can't get a much more impressive place to eat in London. There is always a great buzz here. Staff are very friendly and attentive. I don't think the food is particularly exciting and a bit average menu but tastes good. Reasonable price for location and venue etc. Good place for a celebration or if you want to impress.

I've made my feeling known about The Wolseley back on 26 October 2014. I adore this place. It is the one thing I look forward to when visiting London; and the first face I want to see when I step over the threshold is Nathan. He takes the time to study who visits each day and makes everyone feel like... More

I went here and was made to feel approximate to zero on the scale of human worth. I wrote to complain and to their credit they did forward a voucher for a hundred quid, but if it'd been a thousand, I doubt I'd take the risk of being treated like that again. If you do go, just make sure you... More

We met friends here for dinner and it was a wonderful evening! The food was great and the ambience was brilliant. It was a buzzing brasserie-style restaurant with a solid menu and exceptional wine list. The staff were all friendly and the service was excellent. I highly recommend dining at The Wolseley and we will be back!

Polite and friendly waiters and delicious food! They managed to squeeze us in even though we didn't have a booking - thank you!

The food is fine - average brunch fare. A good place to try kedgeree. This is a people watching spot for the business world as much as anything. But relatively conveniently located no matter what side of London you work on.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
