We were seated very quickly at table with strangers in this place. Everyone was laughing, having good time and very friendly. Food was good for price, although portion was small. Staff were very busy and rushed, but place was quite crowded. Good value.

Waiting for over an hour for your order to arrive is unacceptable. The manager and staff were rude and unattentive- even after complaining they didn't seem bothered. Food arrived cold and poorly presented. With so many other restaurants to choose from in China Town - I would advise thatb this place is best avoided .

Wong Kei is the oriental McDonald's of Londons China town. Expect to be ushered in to share a table with complete stranger's, if it's late evening don't be surprised if your dining companions are drunk and pass out in their food. The staff wearing their Wong Kei t-shirts are fully trained to get you seated, fed and out the door... More

I have been visiting this restaurant for many years. You essentially get what you pay for. However after visiting yesterday with my family I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. We arrived at 7.30 and left @9.50. This wasn't out of choice but because it took so long for our set menu to arrive. We had to get our own plates and... More

It is hard to understand why this restaurant was busy, unless the patrons were all there by chance (as we were), or like large portions of over-salty but otherwise bland food served by apparently bored and sullen staff.

Coming from Greece I found this restaurant a cultural shock at first with regards to the rudeness! The food however was pretty good and they brought it to you very fast. My favourite was the crispy belly pork. Best pork I have ever tried in Chinatown. The crispy aromatic duck was also quite good and some of the noodle soups... More

Best restaurant in China town !! A firm favourite of mine the look of the restaurant not like the swanky London style you would expect when you arrive the restaurant the waiters say how many and shout upstairs or downstairs .As it's on many levels the service is awful to be honest they are rude and sharp but the food... When we were kids Chinese food was trendy, and this place stayed there (and it is not bad), every time I'm in London I eat here and the taste is the same, the price I decent. When you know what to expect and you get it it is for the best. So in the middle of the day, stop there... More

Have been going here, in various guises, with large groups of people, usually after a heavy night out, for late night Chinese eats. The first point to make is that this is NOT a fine dining spot, it is as close to the equivalent of Chinese fast food as you are going to get. There's a real buzz about the... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
