This is just one of the best restaurants in London. Perfect calm relaxed atmosphere and friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. Perfect smoked eel and smoked salmon. An old fashioned mixed grill with all the elements-steak, lamb cutlet, kidney, bacon and sausage beautifully cooked. Lovely ice cream and savoury dessert-anchovies on toast.

I was in London and had a night alone. I wanted to be healthy so ate at Wilton's. The menu was simple but perfect, the place great and the service good. So why 4 rather than 5. Well - I don't give 5 very often and no one thing blew me away. That said I would go back in a... More

Tasteful, quiet, civilised, calm and peaceful. The food is superb. Quantities are exactly right. Service is impeccable. There is a room for private dining. Small business meetings are a possibility - I suppose. Though the place is so traditional and quiet, somehow I hope not...though you could have them in the Private Room...I assume it does have free WIFI -... More

Exceptional food and service in a warm and welcoming environment. Although always busy, you never feel like other guests are invading your space - or your dining experience. A well honed, expert team as always.

Wilton's, recommended to me several years ago, remains my favorite restaurant in London. The ambiance is just fantastic. Classic. A banquette in the oyster bar is the perfect seating. You must disregard prices, and order the smoked salmon. My daughter, not a salmon eater, was hooked. Oysters too. The blue cheese souffle is one of the best things I have... More

We dined a Wilton's for an anniversary dinner; drawn to the history of the restaurant and the classic menu centered on seafood. Made to feel welcome from arrival, we sensed that many regular customers were dining with a hushed comfort which comes from being in a place you are familiar. Highlights from the meal were the dressed crab, Dover sole... More

We went there for Valentine's weekend as a couple plus 1, we love the Dover Sole, but tried the trolly option of Beef Wellington, my my it was good. We love the foie gras here. Our friend had the dover sole the sommelier paired our dinner with a fantastic bottle of Brunello. It has become one of our favorites. At... More

Dear MsLondon2, Thank you for your fantastic review. The beef Wellington on a Saturday evening is proving to be a favourite among our guests and more often than not it sells out within the hour. Our new head sommelier Yohann has spent a lot of time putting together our extensive wine list and we are all very glad that it... More

The oysters were magnificent. The turbot was the best I have ever tasted. The prices were astonishly high - possibly the highest in London! The turbot alone was £45. The wine list was equally expensive. Nothing decent under £75. The service was excellent. Michael, the Maitre D is one of the best there is. I'll be back but only if... More

A very high standard of service and food combine to delight and enchant. Beautiful subtle decor and intimate booths added to the ambience. Great choice of seafood, the smoked eel with horseradish sauce was delicious and to my mind Wiltons is easily a rival to J. Sheekey.

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
