The “special” roast lamb and potatoes was nearly edible. My wife didn’t touch it but we didn’t complain. When we finished the waitress asked how it was and we replied that the meet wasn’t very good, but they didn’t seem to care. The only edible...dishes were the pizza I guess. I had calzone which was OK. Nothing inspiring.More

The Red Pepper is our go-to neighbourhood restaurant. The food is always excellent as is the service. They have nice specials - grilled sea bass with spinach and chicken Paillard with roasted potatoes are two of my favourites, but you can’t go wrong with their...delicious pizzas and pastas.More

Great food with an intimate atmosphere. Quick and friendly service and some good options. It is very reasonable for the local area.

Although very welcoming, I’m afraid the food is very overpriced given the quality. It feels like having dinner at a friend’s, who tries hard but hasn’t quite mastered the art of cooking. In addition it was Saturday night and we were very much pushed to leave...by 10:30 - we were given the bill before we asked for it, the kitchen staff decided to put on their own music as they cleaned the kitchen etc.More

I don't often write bad reviews but the behaviour or the manager here was so comically AWFUL it does deserve it. We all know the moment in the restaurant meal when a staff member pops by the table and asks "is everything alright with your...meal". It takes a lot to actually say no. Owner/manager asks the question and I say "Actually No. There is something wrong with the wine it does not taste nice at all. I think there is some thing wrong with it." MANAGER REPLIES... "Of course it does not taste nice. You chose one of the cheaper wines on the menu. There are bottles on the menu that are 3 time the price. If you wanted it to taste nice you should have chosen one of those." He then proceeded to show me the wine menu and expected me to buy another bottle. I declined and he told me it was my fault that the wine tasted bad because I had not spent enough money. It was £30+ and tasted like water mixed with cheap perfume and vinegar. Advice to the owner - If you think it tastes awful - don't put it on your menu. Pizzas - average - but I live somewhere with a lot of good authentic Italian restaurants so I would not expect a run of the mill restaurant to compete. Side salad - nice very fresh tasting.More

We visited Red Pepper in August and once again received a fabulous welcome. Staff and food were great despite having to adhere to Covid restrictions.

Food was extremely flavorless. I was served a chicken breast fillet with no seasoning. I could have made that better at home. Not worth spending your money here. Extremely underwhelming. Also, the wine by the glass had a significant amount of sludge in it. Eww....Yuk.More
