I had great expectations of this restaurant but was surprisingly disappointed. The food was excellent although the pheasant jus was rather salty and the toffee chocolate dessert was very very sweet. The rest of the food was excellently prepared but although the waiters were attentive and friendly, the service was much too fast. I have eaten in quite a few... More

Too bad. We were four and two of us went for the 8-course tasting menu. The courses (with the exception of the dessert, far from being unforgettable) were good and sometimes very good. But from one course to the other we had to wait ages. This was unacceptable. Plus, the waiters knew little about the ingredients and did not answer... More

we booked for a saturday tasting menu and went for the 'premier' wine selection. We have gone for this sort of option in other Michelin starred restaurants and found it a great way to sample a wide range of dishes and benefit from the expertise of a sommelier to find the ideal wine match. Here the food was lovely and... More

I was so excited to go to Marcus. I Never had food at à Michelin star restaurant and maybe my expectations were too high. The restaurant itself is beautiful and elegant. However, the service was not at the level expected for the price. For exemple, the waitress had put sparkling water in my glass containing sparkling water. When I notified... More

Marcus is a favourite. We used to go when it (Petrus) was owned by Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing was head chef. If anything, standards have improved since those days and there's less of a hard sell. Food and service completely befitting of 2 star restaurant. Look at the menu, make a booking and find out for yourself. Even better... More

We visited Marcus's restaurant at the Berkeley hotel in Kensington as a surprise birthday treat for me, organised by my wife. The whole experience from service to the food was exceptional, our waiter orchastrated his colleagues for each course then explained in great detail what we were about to eat. We ate the 8 course taster menu and it was... More

A great restaurant in The Berkeley Hotel. Food was excellent, the only course was the lamb where there was a considerable amount of fat which as a fat eater, even I found slightly off putting. Each course of the eight was described by Kristoph in detail and although attentive the waiting staff were not suffocating. Definitely up there as one... More

A group of 8 of us dined at the Chef's table at Marcus' eating a surprise eight course tasting menu. The food was outstanding and varied with courses including cod with a sweetcorn voloute, burrata with a pear sorbet, quail with roasted celeriac, slow cooked steak with chanterelle mushrooms, chocolate mousse cake, and so much more. As each course was... More

We chose the restaurant to celebrate a 60th birthday. The restaurant is nicely set out, the tables are spaced sufficiently so that you don't overhear other's conversations and there are lots of staff on hand ready to interupt the diners experience! We asked whether we might see the a la carte menu and was advised that the menu this evening... More

I attended the lunch tasting menu for my girlfriend's 21st birthday alongside her family. This was my first time dining at a michelin-starred restaurant so I was particularly excited, and left a little confused after waiters held out our chairs and made sure we were all tucked in but did not lay our napkins on our laps - however I... Staying in Belgravia

Neighbourhood Profile
Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
