The food is really nice, very good cocktails. Great place to grab a coffee or have a romantic dinner. I would definitely recommend the scallops with chestnut pure, the risotto is a bit bland and the cheese selection is very basic, however, it comes with very very nice salted toasts, those are really good! For such place, the service could... More

Went for a spontaneous midweek dinner. It's a quaint place with nice ambience and great service. We shared scallops for started. We both had fish mains and they were great generous portions. We ate before 8pm and got their special of two course s for 18£. Which for the quality was a brilliant deal.

Dropped in to this funky bistro just by chance and lucky for us. Excellent food at reasonable prices served by great staff.

We stopped here for brunch one day and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and coffee. We had the special that day which included a drink for just £7. The meal included a crab pate poached egg toast and salad which was very fresh, tasteful and we'll presented. The coffee was really clean they clearly service their... More

Weekend to visit my daughter, who has recently moved to the area, booked a table at this eatery for Saturday night. The atmosphere as soon as we entered was cosy nd inviting, welcoming and informative staff, who were attentive even though the restaurant was busy. There was a 'specials' board as well as a main menu. A bottle of water... More

My mother and I had an absolutely wonderful meal at the Wet Fish Cafe, I had the sea bass, and she had the black lentils, which were delicious. I've dined here repeatedly, and the food is always incredible, the service is great, and the atmosphere is lovely. I can't recommend the Wet Fish Cafe more!

I went there with some friends for breakfast/brunch time. When I first entered the café the first thing that got my attention was all the details and atmosphere. It seems like you've travelled to the 80's. Everybody is drinking coffee or tea. By taking a look to the dishes, it's difficult to make a decision to what you'd like to... More

The food is good, although the reason why this is a 3 instead of a 4 is that I didn't feel like I got value for money on the toast. For £2.20 you get two very small pieces of bread. I probably could have bought a loaf of this bread up the road for that price.

Scrambled eggs could have been silkier, softer and runnier. Toast nice but little of it. Coffee good but lukewarm Nice and friendly service Food wise, might be better local options but we are perfectionists. O

This place is not big and tends to fill up quickly on Friday/Saturday, so advisable to book. The service is really friendly and efficient. Excellent food, I particularly appreciate that they serve local food coming from the great butcher next door and also some chocolates and truffles coming from Cocoa Bijoux which is the local chocolatier. A must in the... More

Description
Cafe by day and brasserie by night, The Wet Fish Cafe is perfect for cosy, romantic meals or lazy weekend brunches. Set in one of London's historic 'wet fish' shops in West Hampstead, the original Art Deco wall tiles and eclectic interior create a warm, neighbourly atmosphere. Good music, serious cocktails and the Wet Fish Cafe's own brand of "modern comfort food", the seasonally changing menu is short and offers freshly cooked fish, meat and veggie dishes. The Early Bird menus offer excellent value (on tables returned by 8pm and all evening every Monday).
