What a contrast to Gauthier, where we had lunched a couple of days earlier. The food to be honest is not as good, but the experience is 10 times better. They have waiters who smile; they have waiters who will bring you what you want when you want it; they have waiters who don't think it is beneath them to... More

Well established restaurant. Very attractive room. Good menu and wine list. Also good prix fixe menu pre and post theatre. Very good service and atmosphere. Piano music on Saturdays. Recommended.

This is the kind of place that you come to when you want no culinary surprises but, instead, very well executed versions of dishes that you know well. As in the sublime fish and chips -- probably among the best anywhere. A delicious bread basket and the freshest butter with a side of salt. Some things just a bit loftier,... More

As per all really good restaurants they stand the test of time. On Tuesday evening last we enjoyed our dinner just as much as we did in 1990. Only grumble ..where on earth is the BangBang chicken and that fabulous trio of chocolate mousse that they used to do. Service still perfect and great ambiance, will return at the slightest... More

As the 'chaeapskates' form Scotland,we'd taken the 3 course + a glass of fizz for £35 and arrived at 5.30pm to be the sole customers - by 45 minutes later, it's mobbed and rightly so. Our short menu deal had only 3 choice per course, but in a good restaurant you needn't worry - our main course chicken was so moist... More

An oasis in busy Mayfair. Food and wine of the very best quality in an exclusive setting for the most discerning. Attentive staff, but not rushed.

We had tired to book The Ivy which was full and Le Caprice came up as a sister restaurant that had availability so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We had an early reservation due to the restaurant being busy later in the evening. The atmosphere was good with live music. The food and wine... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
