This St James's stalwart and undisputed flagship of the Caprice Holdings Empire delivers time and time again. With Jesus Adorno at the helm leading a dedicated, talented team it is hard to go wrong here. The ambience is relaxed yet sophisticated and perfectly balanced for a conversation with the tables well positioned. The service is spot on. Faultless in fact... More

I last ate here back in the 1990s (it could even have been the late 1980s). I never quite think of this place to go for some reason. But if the Ivy is full (or you can't get in Sheekey's) then think about this place. I'm not sure I'd go in mid winter (could feel a little cold), but in... More

Had a evening without the children & was in London - always look at the Ivy but was booked, surprise surprise? Ended up at La Caprice & we had a wonderful meal & evening. The food is great & staff attentive without being a pain - bonus was not feeling ripped off! The manager Jesus - different class.

I recently came here for the second time, this time with my parents and sister, and as it was the first time it was a fantastic experience. My sister and I were there an hour before my parents as they got quite delayed, but there was no sense at all in us needing to hurry or be prepared to give... More

We arrived very late for lunch yesterday, due to rail disruptions. The staff and the charming manager could not have been more helpful. Lunch came promptly and the service and food was wonderful. We changed and asked whether we could leave our bags care of the restaurant, which was no problem. Consequently, the rest of the afternoon went as planned.... More

After several visits, this remains a favourite. The service is superb, the food is classic rather than inventive. The wine list is very good with a respectable selection by the carafe. The gentle yet attentive service is incomparable.

I booked this restaurant for a birthday lunch for my husband. It did not disappoint! It's years since I had been here. The service was slick but not intrusive and I could not fault the food. My only comment would be the wine list which is a bit pricey. This restaurant has been around a long time but has kept... More

Love the room and the atmosphere , the brunch menu has great choices but a shame there wasn't a pianist any more. Recommend the bellini to start and an excellent sashimi. The wines are ridiculously expensive. And my prawn Caesar salad although tasty had very few prawns .

We have had some wonderful meals at Le Caprice but last night left myself and my husband feeling cold to say the least. The food itself was good but the service was worse than appalling. At a restaurant of Le Caprice's calibre it felt a bit like an upmarket school canteen. We had to look for the waiters all the... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
