Q: what's the ideal meal the night before you run a marathon? A: sushi of course Often dine here or at sister restaurant in Covent Garden and always delighted. Staff friendly, spotless and the sushi (especially the hand rolls) is great. Also very good value for money compared to other places. Remains a firm family favourite

If you want sushi without all the neon signs and lights then this is just the place for you. The soft shell crab rolls as devine and the highlight of every trip.

Since my last visit things have changed slightly. Specifically, the prices have increased by about 10p per plate and it's REALLY busy (I'd like to think that I contributed to that in some way). The wait was about 5-10 minutes (around 7pm), which I know isn't a great deal of time but we were ravenous and so 5 minutes feels... More

Sushi and sashimi was excellent. Took a bit to figure out how things work. Green tea is self serve - get up and get it. If you want something you don't see ask one of the sushi chefs behind the counter.

Have been eating here for 10 years as it's may favourite conveyer belt sushi in town. Traditional Japanese which means nothing fancy. However good mix of sushi, sashimi and hot dishes. Unlike places like yosushi where the range of fish is limited, dry and mainly salmon, it has a good range of truly fresh fish. Relatively speaking it's cheap for... More

This is my favourite 'home of sushi' in Soho and a regular luncheon spot for my colleagues and I. This place has lasted the test of time and offers good honest sushi in the heart of London. You can make yourself a green tea to start whilst the freshly made sushi sales by. The prices are on display so you... More

This is an excellent casual dining experience for those who like to eat with their eyes as well as their mouths. The belt selection is excellent value and all the dishes are generally good quality considering the high turnover and shortage of space. The service is understated, but professional and welcoming. Highly recommended!

I had a foodie friend introduce me to Kulu Kulu and I was not disapointed. The quality is way better than what you'd find at somwehere like Yo Sushi. Its all very fresh and full of flavour. The decor may put off some, but for me it created a better atmosphere. There was no pretences about it. There's a conveyor... More

I was told about Kulu Kulu by my wife a few years ago and we've managed to eat here on a number of occasions. Don't expect anything special with regard to the building; its all about the food. The servers go about their business well keeping the small counter tops clean and tidy. The chefs operate from a central positon... More

I think it has the best quality-price relation. It is a little restaurant, and the food is so good. Prices are between 1 and 4 pounds.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
