We went for a celebratory dinner - we coudn't get a later time (fully booked) so settled for 5.30 on a Sunday evening. We arrived slightly early but were greeted warmly, parked in the Atlantic Bar for a brief period, then taken through for one of the best meals we have had, ever, anywhere in the world including in some... Visited J Sheekey last night; I had wanted to go for a very long time but never been able to get a table. Lovely atmosphere - feels high end but at the same time relaxed, a little like a french bistro or oyster bar. Staff great - we were very well looked after and were even allowed to stay after... My recent dinner took place 25 years from my very first visit to this restaurant. I find it quite remarkable that not only this restaurant still exists after all these years, but still in the same venue and that it went only through one extensive renovation during that time (and the expansion of its Oyster Bar) and still some dishes... Dined here on Sat 25th November and received a really nice welcome from the host, shown to our table and had to wait 10-15 mins to get drinks however as the title says 5pm on a Saturday when everyone wants to dine pre theatre I will cut some slack. Suffice to say the food was scrumptious and the service got... More

This is not the type of place where you would go for lunch everyday £££, but lets be honest, you don't really care about the price if the quality is top notch. The first time I've tried oyster in J. Sheekey and it was one of the best I've ever had. The service is faultless too. Overall great experience.

Perfection! This place is amazing. The wait staff is incredible as is maitre de. The food is pricey no doubt but the taste is perfect. We dined early and it was awesome! There is an impressive art installation for raising awareness for over fishing and ocean conservation.

If you are going to the theatre in London J Sheekey is perfect for pre or post eating. The standard of the food and service is exemplary. I started with potted shrimp perfect. Then we had lobster Thermidor excellent served with chips, dessert one Welsh rabbit and steamed treacle pudding with custard Yum Yum. Not cheap but worth every penny.

A friend and I had a pre-theatre dinner on a Thursday evening. I booked online 6 weeks ahead, and the restaurant called twice to confirm, one day ahead and on the day again. We arrive on time for our booking at 5pm and the restaurant filled up quickly. We had 3 courses each along with two cocktails each, and the... More

The oysters and the plateau de fruits de mer are excellent as is the whole Devon crab - it's a bit of a mess to eat. Nice cosy interior. It's quite popular so it is better to book in advance especially if you want to eat in the restaurant and not at the bar. it's a bit on the pricey... More
