I was surprised to learn that this restaurant belongs to the Relais Chateaux group as it seemed so different to the others that we've visited. The exterior, all rude boy lighting and patio and sparse planting was hardly the leafy exterior that the name might suggest. The problems with the restaurant were all rather small things, but they added up... More

We went to the Greenhouse, tucked away in a quiet Mayfair mews, for a birthday celebration. We went for the a la carte menu, and enjoyed the amuse-bouche as much as the main dishes. The menu is split fairly evenly between meat and fish/seafood, while both were excellent I think on balance their seafood dishes were their best. The service... More

Some of the dishes were absolutely excellent in flavour and presentation, but some very disappointing. On the 6 course taster menu you could have hid the piece of lamb in a match box, and the veal was tasteless, which is a shame as the scallops done three ways were brilliant. The service was acceptable; but the staff appeared to be... More

Visited for dinner for my little bros birthday on a Friday night. We were seated in the private dining room which was lovely for 7 of us. On arrival you walk through a beautiful garden. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly blonde lady who opened the door for us and then the hostess. The service was exceptional through out.... More

The food is the worst part for this experience through all the Michelin star restaurant I have went to. The black truffle was totally tasteless without any nature flavour. When we said we don't like the black truffle, the waiter surprisingly doubting us never tried black truffle before which is really rude and ridiculous. I have been to many of... More

A lovely restaurant set back from the quiet street and accessed through a very pleasant garden. The welcome was warm and friendly and the service was faultless. We had the set lunch menu. The food was very well presented with several unexpected extras between courses. A little too much pureefied/moussey content for me but I guess that's the style. I... More

We were fortunate enough to have the little glass side room in the dining room, no doubt as we were a party of 6. The glass allowed us to still feel a part of the restaurant. We ordered the tasting menu which was interesting. Some courses were more popular than others and we didn't always see eye to eye either... More

The name refers to the décor: visible through a long row of windows that run down the side of the dining room is a small urban garden, carefully kept green even in January (bamboos, small magnolias, etc.); through the inside row of windows, a “green wall” arrangement of ferns and other more fragile plants repeats the motif. The gardener among... More

The service, presentation and the combinations of ingredients were extraordinary. However, the food felt a bit underwhelming - I didn't have any moment when I closed my eyes and just wishes for the moment to last. However, I can definitely recommend!

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
