Great service, and great atmosphere. Some of the foods were delicious (daal, bean pot, chilli paneer, mutter paneer, potato vegetables), where as other components of the thali weren't as good (bread, salad, carrot gourd curry). Fantastic prices for this part of London.

I always ensure to come here every time I come to London. The food is delicious, pure vegetarian and there is a good variety. The lassis, mutter paneer and pooris are amazing. The environment is also very friendly and peaceful, with a community feeling. The prices are very reasonable for the area.

This one doesnt disappoint just like other Govindas round the world. Of course, compared to india, the variety and spices are low and the prices are a bit high even by Uk standards. Maybe they subsidize the feast to devotees with it.

I ate there today as I was in the area, love Indian food and am a vegetarian. The menu is very simple but not extensive and I'm not sure why they serve pizza. I ordered the Paneer Thali which consisted of beans, matter paneer, rice, salad and a papadam which came to about £7. It was completely unpretentious and tasty... More

Having been a vegetarian for almost 20 years I have eaten at Govinda's more times than I could count, but the reason I'm writing my review now is after a lapse of several years I was more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal I shared with my brother on his birthday. We both ordered a Veggi Thali... More

Despite being a hare Krishna establishment, the vibe i get is really weird. It makes no sense at all the prices they charge according to the food and portion sizes you get. And what's up with the panner, they do everything possible to keep you away from it. It is almost a forbidden item, and when you get it, you... More

Wow, never thought I'd get food that actually tastes like the food that you get in India. Really friendly service, great value for money (especially for central London) and a wonderful atmosphere. My only problem is that it takes me so long to choose what to eat as its all so nice!

There was a wide variety of pure vegetarian dishes! The food was really really tasty and nourishing, could definitely tell it was made from a warm heart. The dining area was very accommodating and the mood was really vibrant. I had absolutely fantastic experience overall and would recommend this place to anyone visiting London :)

Description
Wholesome Natural Vegetarian Food. (Prasdm) Our aim is to provide fresh, nutritious meals at affordable prices. We serve a wide variety of pure vegetarian cuisine, which is freshly cooked on the premises throughout the day. All of our products are meat, fish and egg free with many dishes suitable for vegans too. We do not use onions, garlic or mushrooms. Try the thali (it literally means plate) which consists of 2 sabjis (vegetable dishes), rice, chapattis, and a side salad. More conventional dishes include pizza, lasagna, veggie burgers, egg-free quiche or one of our delicious spinach rolls, all of which can be served with salad. There are over ten different types of fresh salads available daily where you can try creations like mango, celery and walnut salad caprese, or fried and marinated courgette and eggplant. Stapes include simple salads like beetroot, potato and fresh mixed greens. If available. While you are here, try the tahini dressing, it's delicious! We have a selection of English treats such as home-made ice cream, cheesecakes and gateaux or try traditional Indian items such as sweet rice, laddhu (gram flour sweets) and barfis (condensed milk balls). Karma Free Diet Our restaurant also has an additional unique feature: all our preparations are first offered to Lord Krishna before being served and are thus called prasadam which means the Mercy of God. Dine in Govinda's for a truly blessed and karma-free experience! Take a piece of mercy with you All of our menu items are available as take-away, so even if you are in a rush or have just popped out from the office to grab a bite, you can experience the mercy of Lord Krishna! Party Time? If you are having a celebration and want to treat your guests to the Govinda's experience we can cater for any size of function. Celebrate someone special with a sumptuous egg-free cake. We have various sizes for any occasion. Contact us and we can make happen. Why not try Govinda's recipes at home? We have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan cookbooks to help you delight your friends and family with healthy, karma-free cooking. Pop in when you are next in the area or after visiting the temple next door. We look forward to serving you soon.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
