Upmarket Indian restaurant in a lovely building with a good menu. Taster menu offers a good choice. Service was ok, a little hurried at times.

We stayed in South Kensington and went to this restaurant because it was around the corner from our hotel. This is great Indian cuisine "kicked up a notch"

Went with a group of friends, and all really enjoyed the meal. The staff were helpful with the food and drink choices. Everything tasted really nice. The drinks were good. The live piano was just loud enough to enjoy without being too loud for conversation.

What a lovely experience - the location is central to South Kensington just off Gloucester Road tube station and a stone throw from the Millennium Gloucester Hotel. The restaurant is a large one with plenty of space between tables. The food is quite different to...More

Our party of seven dined here with only an hours notice on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant is spacious and benefits from well spaced out tables giving privacy and welcome elbow room. Food was good though pricey for what it was, service reasonably attentive.

We have been to the restaurant twice and I highly recommend it. It was my best friend's birthday and we had their buffet which is laid on the weekend during lunch. The spread is huge, truly one of the best I have ever eaten in...More

My partner and I went last week, having read reviews on this restaurant, we decided to book. The restaurant itself was lacking in any ambience. It was practically silent, almost clinical. The service was really slow to begin with, giving us ample time to make...More

We booked late and were seated in a sort of annex near a noisy large party. The staff were very nice and knowledgable about the menu, which was very helpful. The cuisine was excellent and reasonable value for London. I missed the atmosphere that was...More

South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque
white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's
easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with
superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and
Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely
child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to
mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall)
such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming

What do you consider expensive? It's very good and it is London so it ain't cheap, as a treat if you want to experience a high quality curry in a great atmosphere it is worth it.
Is the menu Halal? Many thanks

I don't think they state that it's halal- but call them. Personally I think they must have rated themselves as "one of the best Indian restaurants in Britain". In my experience they come nowhere near. They probably claim... More

Opening in 1982, Bombay Brasserie was in the vanguard of modern Indian cuisine, with an inventive approach that married classic regional cooking with a European brasserie-style menu. The spacious interior, with its airy conservatory and bright murals, extends to a welcoming bar and a more traditional dining room well suited to the affluent Kensington clientele.
