A group of eight dined here for lunch using one of the private dining areas. The service was attentive, the atmosphere was very conducive, and the food was superbly well cooked - the smoked salmon and crab starter was fresh, the Scottish beef cooked two ways was perfectly executed, the fruit pavlova was divine - all courses were very attractively... I went for a business lunch (long one) & were well rewarded for our hosts choice. It is a little hidden & we went to the one at the back as there are three. It's a dark environment which helped us feel secluded though it was in the main part of the restaurant. The food was outstanding. The wine great... More

I used the Bleeding Heart for many years with colleagues when I worked just off Leather Lane at Waterhouse square. I was recently invited to a meal, and it was a disappointment, and was overpriced for what we received. The Cornish mackerel was overcooked, and the risotto (main) was very dry despite good fresh flavours. The wine was ok (we... More

Went for the set lunch, 3 courses choice of three for each course plus one glass of champagne (Laurent Perrier LP) £29 great value. Starter good, main of venison underhung and chewy. Puds nice all washed down with a bottle of LP. Staff indifferent head female very good as was sommelier rest poor. Biggest problem rushed service. We normally say... More

4 of us visited for a pre booked dinner.Once you have found the restaurant(tucked around the back)you will enjoy the evening.Excellent menu/good ingredients/delightful ambiance and really friendly service. The bread however really let it down-dry stale and tasteless.

Old world French charm meets central London. Done the rickety stairs you go, to the the small and intimate restaurant. Good menu as long as you like meat. Excellent wine list as long as you don't want £30 wines. Great service as long as you don't want cool and groovy.

Had a really good meal for two here on Friday night - the place has a really nice, relaxed atmosphere - a nice, 'bus' feel to it, but didn't feel overcrowded. The food was really excellent - I had pork and my partner had lamb, both of which were delicious; the wine was reasonably priced, and the wine list is... More

The Bleeding Heart restaurant offers good (French) cuisine in a nice, intimate setting. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, and the food itself is quite good, but frankly, not necessarily memorable (I liked the risotto though!)

Unbooked visit to Bleeding Heart restaurant was met with a nice welcome and a table, despite being busy. Good menu, lots to choose from. Good starters, the salmon and crab was excellent. Main course tailed off a bit...and I can assuredly say avoid the pig at all costs. The pork assiette was so far beyond dry it coated the inside... More

Beautiful restaurant in one of the oldest parts of the City of London. Named after the myth of the 17th century murder of Lady Elizabeth Hatton. Daughter's birthday bash. Busy Friday evening. Lovely round table for 4. Ordered a modest bottle of red from the back of the wine list, (Corbiers 'Alice' dom Ollieux Romanis) which the sommelier successfully hunted... More

Description
Described by Square Meal as "arguably the finest French restaurant in the City", the Bleeding Heart Restaurant offers modern French food, impeccable service, an award-winning "encyclopaedic" wine list and above all a uniquely welcoming ambiance in a wonderfully historic setting. The perfect Venue for a business lunch or dinner, the warm, wood-panelled Restaurant is also an ideal setting for a romantic "diner a deux": indeed it was voted by "The Times" as the City's most romantic restaurant.
