...located nearby borough market, helpful service, vibrant and relaxed atmosphere. In downstairs coffee bar they do hot drinks with various tasty pastries and cakes or chocolates. Recommend any drink, which are tasty, reasonable price. I buy coffee here always.

Went there with some friends last weekend who recommended it based on the chocolate. Got the breakfast which was great with chocolate hollandaise! Hot drinks were brilliant too! Definitely recommend it :)

We had a ‘voucher’ for the shard and then for a meal here. Reading all the positive comments we were really looking forward to coming here. Although other people with vouchers were offered (in some people’s words ‘anything off the menu’ we were only offered...More

I've had coffee here before downstairs and found it a little try-hard with its clever coffee retro (and over-copied) style. it was OK, but a tad pretentious. Happily to report, the restaurant upstairs is fantastic. Great food, fabulous service and some terrific home-make, carbo-based gin....More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some
time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved
browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest

Rabot 1745 brings to Londoners the cocoa-centric cuisine of its hugely successful sibling, the Boucan Restaurant, launched in Saint Lucia in 2011 to the adoration of New Yorkers just a short-haul flight away. A unique restaurant and bar, with a terrace overlooking the bustling Borough Market, Rabot 1745 has the rough-and-polished elegance of a cocoa plantation house in the heart of London, featuring authentic touches like hurricane-felled Ironwood, brought home from our own 250-year-old cocoa estate in Saint Lucia. As well as a range of inventive cocktails, Rabot 1745 offers a delicious menu crafted by Chef John Bentham, featuring contemporary dishes that draw on the best culinary traditions of the Caribbean, West Indies, and Britain, using roasted cocoa as a subtle savoury spice.
