Situated on level 33 of The Shard, Hutong serves the fascinating and diverse cuisines of Northern China and is based on the much-loved restaurant of the same name in Hong Kong. Hutong’s cuisine takes its inspiration from the dishes served in the imperial palaces of what was then Peking. Based on the ‘Lu school’ cuisine of Shandong Province, the menu artfully captures the subtlety and surprises of Northern Chinese cooking. A cocktail selection inspired by ingredients used in Chinese cooking and stunning interior, complete with traditional Chinese red lanterns and beautiful hand-carved wood-panelled ‘Moon Gates’, offer London diners a new destination restaurant with panoramic views over London’s

We were given a voucher for a Champagne Lunch. The booking process was very easy and there was room even though it was coming up to Christmas. The table was located near the window with a fabulous view. The server went through the set menu...and explained each dish. He further described each as it was brought to the table. We were able to spend a couple of hours at the table and at no time were we pressured to hurry. A magnificent meal in superb surroundings with a unparalleled view of London. FANTASTIC!!More

Visited Hutong on 8th December to celebrate a birthday. Amazing views whilst dining on great food and cocktails. From the starter to the dessert the food was amazing. Service was ok and restaurant is very dark but I guess you focus on the views so...it doesn’t matter at all.More

Hutong Shard is always one of my favourite restaurants Only this time on Tuesday the 15th my sister and my daughters treated me for a 50th Birthday surprise Just like always the food was excellent presentation and tasty Only my observation would be the dark...and subdued atmosphere is totally wrong especially in this Covid situation The female toilets are so dark, you cannot see if all areas were cleaned We have contacted Covid since 15/12/20... although difficult to say where we actually contacted from. Please Hutong for customers interest keep lighting to the utmost bright and all areas must show the cleanliness We understand you concentrate on the food elements Maybe it’s time you changed policy on more bright lightening- this way customers will feel rest assured the Hutong restaurant is clean and deep clean will give customers the added peace I work for NHS frontline staff. Please Hutong if you can take this comment and advise For the future of all restaurantsMore

Food was really nice and fresh. The view is fantastic, even in the toilets. We spent 3 hours there and enjoyed every minute of the time.

We had the most wonderful time at Hutong! We had the "Experience Lunch" with the added optional Peking duck and pancakes. Every course was beautifully presented and delicious. I recommend you arrive hungry, because portions are very generous. Special mention to our water Vesselin. He...was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made great drinks recommendations. I had the Yellow Dragon which I loved. I will definitely be back :)More

From start to finish foot and service was amazing. I was able to get a late booking for a week before very accommodating. Arrived and shown to our table which was at the window, so was a lovely surprise. Ordered a lovely bottle of Malbec....The food was amazing. Much bigger portions than expected and ended up with a lot of food which was nearly all eaten because it was soooo good. I can’t wait to come back and have the aubergine, spring rolls again!More

Wonderful service and eating experience at Hutong in the Shard. The views over London are amazing and only eclipsed by the quality of the food. We were looked after by the delightful Puspa who saw to our every need and was very knowledgable about the...different dishes we were eating. Superb environment. Highly recommended.More

2 friends and I visited hutong on the 3rd December for our joint birthdays. We didn't have high expectations and we're expecting overpriced but average food. Boy, we were so wrong! We were served by lovely waitress named Agna, and she made the experience even...better. She was very informative for our dietary requirements (this is a non halal restaurant, so we ordered fish and vegetarian dishes and had to ensure there was no meat products or alcohol in the dishes). For starters we ordered the mushroom and spinach dumplings, vegetarian spring rolls and crispy prawn rolls. All were very delicious and generous in portions, our favourite was the prawn rolls. For mains, Agna was very helpful in helping us choose appropriate dishes, advising us on portion sizes etc, if it wasn't for her, we wouldve definitely over ordered and not be able to enjoy the details of every dish. We ordered the Wok fried tiger prawns and sea bass spicy chilli broth, with the vegetable fried rice and vegetable noodles as sides. Again all the dishes were delicious and very generous in portions. The sea bass easily serves two people, and was full of flavour and the perfect spice level. The prawn dish came with 2 large tiger prawns in a lovely breadcrumb mix. The side dishes were equally flavoursome, and by their own right could be dish themselves, as we enjoyed them thoroughly. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate tart, a chocolate lovers heaven, and Agna surprised us with a Mango Pudding with a candle and chocolate plaque that read happy birthday. We were extremely pleased with the food and service and look forward to returning to Hutong for another special dinner! Thank you for making our 26th birthdays so special!More
