The women who seemed to run the cafe needs to have an attitude adjustment. I was appalled by the lack of respect she had for the musicians doing the open mike. I would not come back here on the basis of her 'coolness' ...

Love this place. Great coffee and cakes and a lovely atmosphere. Live guitar and fiddle music while we relaxed. Best carrot and walnut cake I've ever had. Browse the vintage clothes and accessories and enjoy the charm by stepping out of the real world into this little time capsule.

This very small cafe, just off Brick lane, serves good coffee and booze. The lady running the show is very pleasant. Very small sitting area inside and a table outside

Just off Brick Lane is one of only a handful of proper vintage clothing shops (in the basement) with an excellent, cluttered cafe above. We only had a snack lunch but the bagel with hummus, sun-dried tomato and salad was very good. Bustling atmosphere and friendly service were a bonus

Nothing was what we expected from the outside. This place is an experience that engages all your senses from taste buds to finger tips. Very comfortable to relax and savour the menu, but the ambience and style of the place intoxicates the imagination. I am sure it is the most delicious cake in the area. You will love it.

I almost don't want to tell you about this place, in case it becomes too popular and gets ruined! This cafe/ vintage shop is tucked away on Bacon St off Brick Lane and from the outside its not immediately obvious what it is, a junk shop maybe?! Up 3 steps and the writing on the door says 'Welcome Home' and... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighbourhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
